No reason not to jog after night shift, as long as you're awake enough to make it safely out and back. Make sure to wear ID.

It depends on where you work and where you jog.

When I worked nights, I used to jog/walk when I got home in the early morning. Hardest part was keeping out of the way of cars with the sun just coming up. I also had to make sure I didn't overdo it and go too far. But then, I lived in a safe neighborhood, I wouldn't do it now.

Jog?? After a night shift?? I'm lucky if I have the energy to brush my teeth..
thanks for the input guys, actually im not a Nurse, Im a programmer ( home base ) so imagine, eating, sitting, liking , dringking
but yeah, we may have different work, but we our nocturnal, and Nurse work are more physical and mental like wise. As I said im more on mental side and..... sit the whole sh1t..
God Bless to our Filipino Nurses =)
ive been into jogging after night shift for 5 months now, i do jog T-Th-Sat and hit they gym for strengthening ( pump iron ) for M-W-F
I love doing this routine, as my co worker in night shift having problems with their health, so I decided to discipline my self and do exercise, and on sunday I do basketball for 3 hours..
I enjoy doing it, and me and my wife do jog and go to gym. Its not just good for your physical and mental aspect but its good also to socialize people ( as i said earlier i work at home, so only me and my wife I see and neighbor )
Then one day a nurse neighbor told me that its not good to jog after night shift of work, so I kinda afraid of what he says ( as i know hes a nurse ) so thats why i posted this question to you nurse guys..
And I know its not that bad, as long you have good sleep, eat, vitamins
anyway i think hes envy as hes getting fatter and cant catch up with me, but hes a good neighbor of mine...

sometimes i do long runs after my evening shift (get off at 11pm). I find that I recover better than when I wake up in the morning and run and have to go to work in the afternoon.

So you are NOT a Nurse? And you came to an ALLnurses board for what? An opinion we can't possibly give correctly?
