Rush GEM fall 2022

Hello,

I looked around and did not see a forum for the 2022 fall GEM program at Rush University in Chicago. I just applied and received an email inviting me to interview with the school. I was wondering if there are any other people on here applying to the program and how they are feeling? ?

Also just put down my deposit for Rush! How is everyone looking for housing?

I'm from Chicago so I'll just be staying with my parent until I finish school.

I just decided to put my deposit down for Rush and I will be attending in the fall! I just received an email where I received a decent amount for a merit scholarship from Rush and honestly that was enough to convince me. When I called the financial aid office they said we would probably hear back from them by the end of the week if we're lucky but normally it would take about 3 weeks to process all of the financial aid stuff. Now I'm just waiting for my actual financial aid package and we'll just see what the next steps are. See you guys in the fall! If someone has already started a Group chat/ facebook group let me know!

That's great!

Yes, I am definitely anxiously awaiting my financial aid package as well.

As far as I am aware, I do not think there has been a group made. Should I make one?

Woo hoo! Congrats! I moved from Chicago at the beginning of the pandemic (finished my MPH online and got a remote job), so I am excited to move back! I have been looking at apartments on apartments.com using the filters, but I really have no idea what I am doing for housing yet. I have a 1 year old dog and a car that I did not have last time I lived in Chicago, so that will play a role. And imagine I will know more of a housing budget once I get my financial aid package. I am thinking I will schedule to go look at a few places in May.

What about you? Where are you coming from?

I just got a message from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) saying the deadline to submit a deposit has been extended to March 18 so that students can view their Financial Aid package before accepting their offer. Hope this helps everyone!

Has anyone heard back from the waitlist?

Yes. I was #27, I got an update I moved to #11 a month later, then #3 another week after, another week passed and I got an email that I was admitted today! I was surprised.

Wow! Are you taking the offer? I moved to place #5 not sure if I’m taking the offer as I already have an offer from another school. But Rush has always been my #1 choice… congrats by the way!! To anyone whose been admitted off the waitlist. ?

I’m torn between 2 schools right now. Can anybody confirm how many days a week Rush’s program is?

Depending on the term it is 2-5 days a week. A few terms have online courses. Clinical is 1-2 days a week.

Did anyone hear back from the waitlist update???
