  1. I have decided on another school so a spot should be opening up!
  2. I was accepted as well, I am definitely going to attend! Rush was my first choice.
  3. Anxious, but I am hoping for the best! How about yourself?
  4. Hello, I hope everyone is doing well. Does anyone remember what date they said we would receive an admissions decision?
  5. Thank you so much for offering to help, how many students are in your cohort? Do you think being a nursing assistant while in the program has helped you network with nurses already working at Rush? Lastly, where have you volunteered? I really enjoyed how the students who were on the panel for first look seemed to be very engaged in the program.
  6. I got it as well, I am hoping for the best! I am also hoping it is not delayed.
  7. @gpad_02 You sound like a competitive applicant! Having experience is invaluable, from many of the admitted students I have seen I think that their experience stands out the most. Having a solid GPA again can take you along way, but showing your work ethic makes you competitive. From the past forums and some LinkedIn stalking (LOL) I have seen a lot of diversity in the admitted students, so don't be too hard on yourself! I wish you the best of luck and would hope to see you both on the campus! It is such a nerve racking time but it helps me to remember that these are highly competitive programs and a rejection is not a reflection of our ability to be a good nurse. Did anyone apply to UIC as well??
  8. @futuremsncnl I have heard back from a few but I am waiting for RUSH because it is my top choice. I have volunteered in my community and had patient care experience. Even though academic success is important I think they value experience and potential as well. Since they take a holistic approach to the application process I believe a diverse student population is admitted (ex. high GPA (3.5 and above), average GPA (3.3 and below). From what I have come to understand it is really important to show that you have a desire to be a nurse and have the ability to do well. I have had to put down some deposits for other schools which has been stressful because RUSH is where I want to go. Have you applied to any other programs??
  9. @mmha Thank you so much for your advice/ information. The interview was very fast paced which made it more nerve-racking than others I have had, but the interviewers were kind which helped. I wish you the best and I hope you do receive good news! Are you applying to any other schools in the Chicago area?
  10. Hello, I recently had my interview as well and the faculty member I interviewed with was very welcoming. It made the interview fly by, it was professional yet authentic which I really enjoyed. I heard about their experiences which was refreshing, I feel like many interviews you don't get to hear much about the interviewers experiences at the institution. I am hoping to receive good news and I hope you all do as well, I am happy to hear everyone had a positive experience. ?
  11. Who else was at first look today?? It was nice to hear from the students, they all seemed really honest/ open about their experiences.
  12. @mmha @gpad_02 I did not receive an email about them either. I read in the past years forum that they held mock interviews so I went on the website around the time I sent in my application (around mid January) and looked at upcoming events and saw that they had one on February 4th. I registered with the link provided, there were only 4 other grad entry students besides myself. So I don't think they sent something out, or at least not many people received it.
  13. I had to search UIC in my inbox because I did not see the email but I received a notification. I don't know if that will help. I also went to a mock interview session they held and they said interview invites will be sent out throughout the entirety of this month. So I would not stress it. They also said anyone who met the minimum requirements should receive an interview invite!
  14. Hello, I received the email to interview a few days ago as well!! How are you all feeling?
