Looking to purchase a good ring cutter for the ED. What do you guys recommend/use? We would like an electric one, and our old one gave up after 10+ years...

Thanks:)

We use the GEM ring cutter system, works great for us.

Oh it hurts my heart to see rings cut. My grandmother never had a wedding ring so my mother bought her one when she and Daddy got married. The nursing home cut grandmother's off right through the engraving on the inside. I know it is necessary but you are trying other means aren't you?

In our ER, generally when a ring has to come off via a cutter, the other means have been exhausted (string, lube, etc.).

Also if you are careful and cut it in two places jeweler's can reattach it really well...and yes, only cut off as a last resort, usually pt's are very grateful because they and we have tried everything.
