Returning pants

I rarely get clothes back even with the note I send home. Most of our kids need the extra pants or the parent just doesn't care abt returning them etc. Thankfully we have a couple local churches that love to donate to me. I have to tell them when to stop for a while sometimes due to lack of space. We also ask our younger ones to provide an extra change of clothes in their backpack but many don't. You might try asking some local churches if they'd be willing to help. I've been very blessed that way!

This year I have decided to call parents when there are bathroom accidents or clothing malfunctions. So far I haven't had any issue with parents getting a change of clothing up to school.

NanaPoo - might you get a roll of that paper that they use for doctors' office exam tables? Just rip some off between kids?

Hello, I've been a school nurse in CA for 3 years now at elementary school sites. At one of my sites I do not have any extra clothes and I will not be buying them out of my own pocket. So instead all Kinder and 1st grade parents are told to stock an extra pair of clothes in their child's backpack from the beginning. If they do not have clothes in their bag, then it is the parent's responsibility to come to the school and provide a change. I don't have any issues in doing it this way. Hope that helps you.

Wow-parents who provide extra clothes when asked and actually answer their phone?! What a luxury! That rarely happens in my district.

Also wanted to mention that I bring my daughter's out grows to supply undies - but that only covers the girls. Funny how parents don't seem to mind if you send a little girl home in boys underoos but send a boy home in cinderella panties and people lose their minds. I have called parents when i just haven't had any supplies for boys and it's amazing how fast they can get here with clothes when the alternative is their son's masculinity threatened with disney princesses.

I also bring in a supply of plastic grocery store bags for clothing changes and other uses. Education - the only job where you steal supplies from home to use at work!!
