retrogression true or fallacy?

:idea:there wer rumors that there is regression in the hiring of nurses in US..i dont beliv its true..wat u think?

Not sure why you think this is not true when there are plenty of threads in the International forum discussing this and other immigration issues. Retrogression has been ongoing since Oct 2006 and affecting all nurses from all countries regardless of training, ie if studying at a school of nursing in the US but International student is affected in the same way as someone from the Philippines and UK.

Also can I remind you it is good practice not to use text or abbreviation for words as all documents when working regardless of country is a legal document and may be used in a court of law so any abbreviations used must be recognised as OK by the hospital, most words are not ok. Also good practice in English

But what I can tell you is that even if you pass the NCLEX exam and find an employer, there is no guarantee that you will ever get a green card to work in the US. The major problem is that your country graduates many more nurses than they can use; many, many more and there are not jobs for them. Most other countries are requiring two years of work experience before they will grant a visa, and do not be surprised if the US does not start that soon as well.

There are less than 10,000 visas available per year for those from your country and their dependents and not only nurses, so chances are not in your favor.

My bad, ..I wasn't able to read the threads about the regression ..But thank you for the enlightenment..as for my English..I didn't expect that I had to spell it out ryt even at Forums..Don't worry I know about the IMPORTANCE of Legal Documents and how abbreviations should be used

It is actually called retrogression and this is what happens when there are many more applicants for a limited number of visas.

Regression means to go back in time or age.

English is very important if you are planning to work in any other country, and that is why we are very strong in pushing everyone here to use proper English and grammar as you have English exams that you will need to pass.

Also using the word "enlightenment" for gaining information is not how the word is used in the US or even in most other countries. It is never used in that context. You think of it more in terms of Buddha and religion but not for information. And if used when taking an English exam, you would be graded down for it.

Not picking on you so do not take it that way, just clarifying some information that you need to have and be aware of.

funny thing,times i get to talk to some of my true born american friends, they tend to speak wrong grammar english. ive experienced that for so many times..lol!

i think you were trying to say not hiring, well i think the employer take it slow this time because there sno use a lot f nurses with pending or waiting for slot at NVC who had been approved by USCIS already. so theres no reason for them to hire and hire without any visa.

My opinion is doubtful due to it being a US election year and immigration such as visas will not be a high priority as the US will have their own issues to deal with

Anna is correct on this. You have to take into account that visas are allocated every October based on the fiscal year for immigration. But there have many more petitions submitted than the number of visas available, and that is what caused the retrogression and that is what will cause it to go on.

Add into it, the increase that still continues to come in as far as I-140 petitions and it will get worse before it gets better, especially for those from the countries were there is a much larger number of applicants.

That is one reason that you are going to see a shift coming up in the requirements for licensure in the US once again, such as needing a local license is going to become more prevalent again, and you may see the requirement of work experience as well. Same as what many other foreign countries are now requiring.
