What classes are required for your nursing program? I am taking only what is listed on the form, but many are taking additional courses like med terminology and other course? What about you?

CHM & BIO 101 (both of which could have been done during high school), NAS 161 & 162 (which are A&P and Micro combined), ENG 111, SDV 101 (student development)--Those are all of the pre-reqs.
You are right, many schools are so competitive that you won't even get into the program until you have completed all of the supporting courses as well, which include: PSY 201 & 201, Medical Terminology, HUM elective (usually Bio-Ethics), Speech Elective, and finally Pharmacology.
I am taking everything before starting nursing because I want to lighten my load during the program. I want to be able to focus all of my attention to as few things as possible.
Yep, microbiology and physio are not required before the more and more people are taken those before they apply. Thanks.

Here are the classes that I had to take:
Intro to General, Organic & Biochemistry I & II (+ labs for both)
Principles of Microbiology (+ lab)
Intro Ethics
Intro to Psychology
Intro to Nursing (most pointless class ever next to my Professional Role Development class...I didn't learn a single thing about nursing in either of those classes )
Intro to Sociology
Basic Statistics
English Comp I & II
A&P I & II (+ labs) and a speech class are co-requisites. They are changing it for next year's incoming nursing class - both of those classes will be pre-requisites and microbiology will become a co-req class.

Wow - 12 credits of chem just to get in? Thatsalotta chem. The school I'm applying to only requires one chem class. I am going to take more chem on my own but that's because of my post RN plans not coz it's required to get into any nursing school that I know if in my state. Getting the RN is just the beginning not the end so people who are taking more than required to apply to nursing school are probably doing it simply because they're thinking about phase II.

I'm applying to Texas Woman's University.
They require you to complete 42 hours of the core curiculum. Also they require: A&P I, A&P II, Chemistry, Government I & II, Life-Span Psychology, History I & II, Microbiology, Nutrition, and Statistics.
Actually it's only 8 credits of chem - 4 credits for chem I & 4 credits for chem II. Even so, I think the biochem classes were a huge waste of my time and I never never used anything that I learned in that class for anything nursing-related, except for glycolysis/kreb's and all of that stuff in my patho class.
