hi all, i will be starting class in september and was wondering if anyone uses a recording device to record lectures, etc. i was thinking this would help me study...the question is, what do you use..some have said they use an ipod...if that the case...which one? i did a search and there are so many different versions:confused:...i am challenged so to speak when it comes to electronics...i want something that is very clear and that perhaps i can download on to my laptop or listen to in my car when driving...all opinions are welcome and needed...thank you in advance

For A&P I, II and Lab I , Lab II and Chem I put my ipod either on the teacher's desk or under a rubber band wound around a water bottle to hold it in a standing position. For the Lab Practical Review I just rotated the bottle as needed when the teacher moved about. The A&P teacher was so soft spoken that I often had to sync the recording to the computer so I could boost the playback level high enough to hear clearly. This was with a 3rd gen iPod and a Belkin external microphone module from Amazon. When you plugged the module in, it asked you wanted to record. Because the unit was old I had less than 2 hours of recording before the battery would die.

i totally want an echo smartpen but the reviews on Amazon.com say it's kind of glitchy so i'm not sure i want to spend the money in case it doesn't work.

I barely use it, but I have the Ipod Touch & I ordered a microphone on amazon for like 8 bucks... then I downloaded Italk lite to record. I love my ipod because I also have a few apps that I can look things up on. The one i really love is Medscape and its free too. you can look up drug info for clinicals, and also information about procedures and different values.

you may want to ask the professor first. Some do not allow recordings

many nursing clinical segments do not allow recording because of hippa violation concerns. other classes do not allow for various reasons. it is all up to the discretion of the instructor or program director.
