Reading Glasses

So - my eye doctor warned me a few years ago and it is happening.... I need reading glasses. Since I'll be starting class in a couple weeks - I want to order some glasses that I'll be able to leave on during class (I only need them for reading - can't actually see distance with them on). I am looking for glasses that have a reading lens on the bottom but are clear on top so I can see the board. Does anyone know if these exist or what they would be called? Everything I have found so far is has some sort of magnification all the way up (like 3/4 for the center and 1/2 for the top - but not totally clear).

Help!! Otherwise I'm gonna be in the market for one of those neck things or granny glasses that I look over the top of!!!

    I have progressive lenses that are my normal (very light) prescription on top and at the bottom they are readers. You might try going to an eye doctor rather than doing a one-size-fits-all pair of glasses so that you have what is right for you.

    Seems like you could just order progressives but with zero Rx on the upper part.

    I did - I see my ophthalmologist every 2 years. He told me to just go buy 1.25 readers. I guess I could call for a script - they don't do glasses there at all.

    I have about a half dozen pair of $10 WalMart readers. I push them up- headband style- when not in use. Believe me when I tell you it is the easiest, simplest, cheapest way to go.

    Check out zenni.com . I bought my glasses for 6.95 which included frame and lens. You can customize them so you may be able to just get the bifocals part. Need to know your prescription though.
