Ran out of time with 200 questions!

Published

Hi all..

I took nclex-rn this morning for the 2nd time.

The first time i took the exam, i got 78 questions. 3 Sata and 5 math.

With my second exam,

I didn't expect that i would ran out of time.

At first i thought that my computer will shut off at 75, then after i reached 75, the computer did nothing, just kept giving me questions then i told to myslef probably at 100th question.. then questions just kept coming like there was no tomorrow. "When will it end?" I asked my self.

To be honest I got frustrated and answered the last questions haphazardly. Which I know now was a big mistake because they take into account the last 60 questions, if the answers were above the passing standards then you pass. (Which i know i didn't because the questions where basic assessment questions).

All in all i got 200 questions, just 2 SATA, no math, a lot of drug, assessments, who to see first, pt. teaching's, infections, cohort, prioritizations...

Now i feel humiliated because my friends and family believed the i would pass the second time around. I feel like i let them down. I let let down my friends, my family, my husband and my self.

Inside me, i still hope and pray and wish that i did pass.. I know that i'll pass, probably not with my second exam.. But i know i'll pass... someday. ill never stop trying.

if i failed again, ill probably ask suzanne for her help. i did the 1st tip already and mail her as soon as i get my result and ATT.

thanks for reading.. ill post my result soon.

Hey mochafrap :) It's LVdreamer. Anyways based from your story I had the same thing happen to me..computer just kept giving me questions and I was freaking out but I found out that I passed. First time I took NCLEX it stopped at 75. Then the last time I took it, it stopped at 180 after 4 hours and I just didn't know what to think. Being that there wasn't any computations I'd say that's a prettty good sign. My format of questions were 0 computations, 3 SATA's, 7-10 drugs, and the majority i'd say about 60-70 % of my exam was teaching and client education, who would the Nurse see first, which of the ff s/s would lead the nurse to notify the Physician etc. Anyways it's really easier said than done but try to stay positive I know it's hard..but really there's nothing you can do at this point since the test is over. All I could think about for the past 3 days before my results were posted was if I had passed and that I should keep studying just in case, but I passed lol. Well Goodluck! When did you take your test?

Wishing you good luck.

Most leave the test site feeling like they failed. Wait for the official results. You might have still passed. The exam is hard to predict. Distract yourself with having a wonderful Thanksgiving. Good luck and I have my fingers crossed. Keep us posted.
