hi all
i have some questions for you
i'm going to start my first travel assignment and was wondering if anyone has ever used TRUSTAFF and has worked or heard about the emergency room at the JENNI STEWART hospital in HOPKINSVILLE KENTUCKY
and with all the numbers they throw at you about money-basically housing travel et all is taken out of your pay-is that correct?
thanks-beaujacques

Housing should be another compensation, above and beyond your hourly salary. Either they rent a place for you or they give you a monthly housing stipend. It should never come OUT of your pay.

NO, they should NOT take housing out of your pay.
Review your contract carefully. It wouldn't hurt to have another nurse look it over as well.

You should NOT have housing coming out of your pay. Different companies do their pay differently from each other. I found some would give you an hourly rate + an apartment fully paid. Others would give you hourly + a tax free stipend for housing, if you chose not to take the apartment. Then others did a low hourly rate + an untaxed amount.. that took some time to understand what you were actually making. I always preferred just a flat hourly and my housing. Much easier to know what I was getting.

Right, I don't know this company, but when I would travel, I would get:
1. travel allowance
2. sign on bonus
3. hourly salary, with a no cancel guarantee for weekly hours
4. a monthly stipend for rent (or a rented apt)
5. health insurance (from day 1 of the contract)
then usually a very hefy resign on bonus to extend the contract....
It was a great deal and I did it for 2 years...
They should never be taking rent or anything out of your salary...check that contract out before you sign!

I was not able to deal effectively with this company their promises didnt pan out After I had another job they called me to drive to the above hospital immediately no interview needed just show up start work????????
thanks all for the replies
what they want to give me is $13.25 taxed-22.75 non taxed
and they said that the per diem and housing comes out of the non taxed money?
no money for travel to the hospital- i will be going 3 hours away in order to do my shifts and come home and stay with my mom-no sign on bonus
and their insurance starts adter 30 days
i asked about bonus and travel money and the recruiter got a little annoyed and said we're paying you a lot of money!-
needless to say i was flabbergasted- and after all of your replies am wary!
thanks- beaujacques

RUKIDDINGME posted this about trustaff Personally I would not work for them taking money out of pay for housing is not right STAY AWAY FROM TRUSTAFF!!!!!!! I have been bamboozled. Long story short.I was supposed to be compensated today 7/22/2011 and haven't. I have called my recruiter Tom ALL DAY. He has not answered or responded to my phone calls or messages. I was told by the receptionist that he was 1)on another call, 2)at lunch, 3)still at lunch 4)away from his desk...which one is it? I asked to speak with someone who could give me information about my money. I was given the voicemail of someone named Heather who stated $672.83 was direct deposited into my account...no it wasn't. To make matters worse, I was supposed to be compensated around $1050.00! Heather emailed me a scanned copy of the check that was "direct-deposited" and a check stub. Trustaff deducted $576.00 for housing. I stayed in an Extended Stay hotel for 1 week....it didn't cost that much. Once again don't do business with Trustaff!!!! I'll keep you posted in regards to my money.

My birth mom just stayed at a 'suite' hotel for extended business, and in this area, 5 nights were over 650.00.... :)
I live in an apartment complex that has a "medical rental" unit above my apartment- when someone new moves in, the unit is cleaned up, furniture delivered, etc- through a contract with the travel company. Most travelers I've worked with have never mentioned what you described.... can you get out of it?
Sounds shady.... JMHO :)
Are U an RN if so this pay seems low As I stated I could never pin them down on particulars the two facilities they wanted to place me at 1) did not provide travel expense or bonus 2) didnt even need an interview 3) no housing set up sounded fishy so I ran away LOL
This travel company specializes in malarky. Don't sign with them. Lord only knows what sort of clauses are written carefully into your contract that you need an army of lawyers to interpret.
If you are an RN, you should be making at least if not more than double the hourly rate quoted to you.
Housing should be paid for. That is one of the greatest perks of travel nursing.
Insurance should start day one. AND it should be free.
You should also have a monthly allowance for living expenses. I had a $700 monthly allowance for living expenses, a $500 bonus for completion of my contract, a $1200 housing stipend, and a $1000 moving bonus. This on top of my hourly rate.
Find a different travel company. Seriously dude.
