75 questions, ~19 SATA

Just finished my NCLEX in 75 questions and about 18-19 SATAs. Had a LOT of "who do you see first" questions, no audio, no EKG, no math (or maybe one, not sure), maybe one putting steps in order, one exhibit. Some I felt confident about, others I had no idea. I guess most people feel that way.

Think I passed?

I finished this morning with 75 questions as well. Id say half my test was SATA (mostly), delegation, and priority/see first. Had a few med questions (maybe 5-8).

No drag, no EKG, no audio, no expand, no math.

I feel like I failed as well but am told this is common.

You have a greater likelihood of passing in 75 questions than failing. The next 48 hours until Quick Results are available feel so long! Good luck to you both :D

Well I hope we both passed. :nurse:

Someone give us some insight please!

Thanks, I agree that chances are we passed. What a weird test...

The whole SATA thing is a myth, I got only 3 and passed in 75. Shutting off at 75 is almost always a good sign from what I've seen. Good luck!

Yeah I can't imagine I would fail in 75. If I'm gonna fail that test, it's gonna make me miserable first, and drag it out to at least 200 questions!

The only insight I can give you is that at 75 questions, you either did very well and could demonstrate the minimum competency quickly....OR.....you did so miserably that you demonstrated INcompetency quickly.

Everything else you mentioned (# of SATA, etc) has absolutely no bearing on how you did. All of those questions can be above the passing standard or below it.

Given the rigor/reputation of your school program, the kind of student you were in school, and how you prepared for the NCLEX...which scenario is more likely?

Now combine that with the fact that somewhere around 82-85% (stats fluctuate quarterly) do pass on their first try at the exam....what do you think? :)

Oh, I do think I passed. í ½í¸

I just went through this torture last week. I passed in 75 questions but walked out thinking I failed. What minimized my anxiety the next day was thinking about the last few questions I had (the ones I could remember because most were a blur). I freaked out because I thought my last question should have been an easy delegation question but then I realized it required a lot of analysis and application. And a question in the high 60s was "who do you see first" with a bunch of conditions I had never heard of! Regardless of question type or format, analysis and application are generally considered above the pass line. If it was going to shut off at 75 and because I failed it was going to be on a recall or knowledge question because that is how bad you have to be doing to fail in 75.

Also, remember that you are generally getting 50% wrong no matter how good or bad you are doing. That is Computer Adapted Testing NCLEX and no wonder we all walk out and want to throw up!

Hope this helps.

Pretty much! :D

Shut off at 75 questions. I feel the same way. Totally nervous right now. I keep saying no way did I do so bad, because I felt good. Even though I was getting a million SATA in a row (25 all together), I felt I made good choices. But my stomach doesn't agree. Ugh. I have about 16 more hours of torture left. I have faith in us! Good Luck guys. Let's be amazing nurses!

Same boat here.. Horrible feeling. Shut off at 75 but had over 25 sata. Why me?!! Praying we all made it! N results appear soon took it july 20!
