What types of questions did you get a lot of?
Last year many of the new RNs told me they had a lot of pharmocology questions, did you notice any trends in the questions you received? Did you get many maternity, pedi, pharm, lab, prioritizing, delegation, etc questions?
I just got my ATT this morning and I scheduled my test for tomorrow morning! Kinda crazy, but it was either tomorrow or not til mid July, and I really wanted to do it before I start work, which is Monday... So I was just wondering generally what to expect.
Thanks in advance:)

Hi! I took my state boards on May 22 and passed. The majority of the questions that I had were prioritizing and delegation. I did have some pharm questions but luckily they were ALL drugs that I had heard of. But remember that since it is a computer adapted test the computer is looking to ascertain your "weak" areas and will continually ask questions in that particular area. I also had questions about lab values but if you know them then that shouldn't be a problem because you'll be able to readily identify if a value is too high or too low. Just remember to study hard and become comfortable answering question after question and you'll be fine. I remember being soooo nervous the day before my test but the day of the test I told myself to just relax and be calm, and I was!!! Good luck on your test!!!!
Thanks Candy! Funny, I was just coming back to add prioritizing and delegation to my list and you already had it here! Thanks for the encouragement:) and :monkeydance: Congratulations:balloons:

I did the same thing - got my ATT at 8pm, scheduled the exam at 9pm, took the test 12 hours later - 5 hours away! I'm not sure it was the brightest thing...I feel like I failed. I'll know on Monday I guess....
Oh thank goodness I'm not the only one. It seems like everyone I know (well the ones that have confessed!) are scheduling for weeks from now!
Thanks, and :balloons: Congratulations:balloons:
Wow, that's pretty intense! A lot of people say that they feel as if they have failed, but then found that they passed. I hope the same is true for you, let us know!

Thanks for the encouragement. I keep trying to tell myself, "everyone on here thinks they've failed...and then we read two days later than they didn't!". I haven't read of too many that have failed it (at least for the first time test takers). I really feel like I did badly on it - but that's the trend.
I'm regretting that I scheduled it and tested so quickly...I feel like I could have reviewed a lot more if I had done like everyone else and scheduled it weeks from now - but then again, can you EVER really be ready for it? I could have studied for three more weeks and maybe answered a handful of questions correctly as a result...but would that have made a difference??
UGH the questions I'll be asking myself for the next few days! I wish I could find out SOONER than two BUSINESS days...dang weekends!

I know it's easier said than done, but try not to regret it, there's nothing you can do about it now. Try to keep yourself busy, go have some fun, maybe that will help take your mind off of it? I know I'm gonna try to stay very very busy this weekend!! And then I start work on Monday so at least orientation will keep my interest (hopefully!) for a good 9 hours. ha ha. That was part of my rationale for testing tomorrow too, I'm never going to know everything! Good luck staying sane

A lot of OB. Good luck on the test!
Thanks, I think I did ok...? I hope so anyway, I can't really imagine failing, so I'm just not going to try!
I had a lot of prioritizing. Also noticed a bit of delegation, more maternity and pedi than I was hoping for, 2 med calc, 2 choose all that apply, 4 meds.
