I have a question for you all: Before I start I do have a neurologist and a PCP but I have some questions that I wanted to get ya'lls feedback:
I have a pseudo tumor cerebri. I have had 3 spinal taps the OP has always been over 30 and I take Diamox and my neurologist wants me on Zonegran but I am nervous about taking a medication that is indicated for seizures. My problem is this. For the past 3 months or so I have been put on Inderal 3x daily and BP med because my HR will not stay below 130 without the med, my BP has been very high and my 2 EKG's showed SVT and a 1st degree block on one. I was told after I went to the ER with some neurological symptoms ie: tripping, dizzy and HR 148 that I had the "beginnings of a thyroid storm" that my thyroid labwork was VERY hyperactive. Had to get IV Inderal to get HR down and was referred to endocrinologist. Had further labwork and thyroid uptake that DID NOT show hyperthyroid.
That night I was in the ER I had this awful feeling like something bad was going to happen to me, I was very scared and I have never felt that feeling before, I was afraid for the nurse to leave the room.
All that being said and if you are still here with me...I have asked both my PCP and my neuro what they think is going on, answer your BP is high.
I do not think it is normal to have to take Inderal to keep my HR down, I can feel it booming in my neck and my heart feels like it is flip flopping. I am going to take myself to a cardiologist just in case, I do not have a HMO but wondering you all's thoughts on this. I had a echo and a thallium stress test last year because of a ONE time episode of this, I was told all WNL. I do not do any drugs and I rarely drink. Has anyone seen this or been through it themselves?
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Jenn

Unfortunately we can not give you any medical advice. I can say that whenever you have the feeling that something is wrong you should listen to it. Additionally seeking a second opinion is never a bad option if you feel as though someone may be overlooking something.
