Hi! I apologize if I have put this question in the wrong forum. I am not a nurse, nor am I going to school to be one -but I have a question & I figured this would be the best place to ask.
I need to give my pet mouse antibiotics. the prescription bottle says: 0.3milliliters two times a day. I have a tuberculin syringe that is in "cc". am I to give her .30cc's (that is how it's marked) - is .30cc the same as 0.3ml ?
I feel like a real idiot because I can't figure it out & I have asked people & I get different answers - some say it's the same, some say no, one said that a milliliter = 100 cc's. Now I'm really confused & the vet is away until the 26th.
PLEASE can someone here help me? are cc's and ml's the same?
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
1 cc = 1ml so 0.3 ml =0.3 cc. Hope your mouse is on the road to recovery soon :)
Thank you SO MUCH for the fast reply!

oh, how cute!!
what's wrong with the little one??
Thanks - I think she's a cutie too :)
She developed mycoplasma pulmonis (Myco, for short) - an acute respiratory infection that damages their lungs. From what I understand, (and don't quote me on this) all mice have this myco in them but as some get older it develops into an infection that makes it difficult to breathe properly. She just turned a year old this week, average mousie lifespan is 1.5 - 2 yrs...so I guess we are lucky she hasn't been ill until now. The first signs of it are these cute little "chirpy-chattering" noises that almost everyone believes to be ok, but unfortunately any audible noise from a mouse (other than a squeak once in awhile) is a bad thing...
I am hoping the aintibiotic (baytril) will clear it up and give her a many more months with us.
Thanks for asking!

Little cuttie! My son had gerbils and I always liked the little buggars. Hope your baby gets well soon.

Thanks to all who responded and all the well-wishes!! You've been a great help to us :)
You have a really good forum here (I was lurking around) and although I won't be able to contribute much, I think I will stick around for a bit!
