Does anyone know if CGFNS goes through your course modules and allocate some hours to some of your theory courses based on your modules and transcript? I am asking because my sister is a UK Adult nurse, her University in United Kingdom is refusing to provide exact breakdown for her theory hours. They wrote that in UK they give overview of theory hours completed in the program and not specific courses. In her program, she completed both obs &Gynea, pediatrics and Psychiatric nursing. All these courses were integrated in different courses and not as an individual modules. She seems to be good in placement hours. I am US trained RN, but the UK school system is different.

Are you still in nursing school or you have graduated? Did you have a chance to do your placement in a community setting were you saw people of different age groups? Ranging from Child to Adult, oby&gyn...mental health disorders?

Okay let me post briefly what she said. As an adult nurse, she was deficient in peds, obs&gyn, mental health when she applied for CFGNS. How did she eventually get comparable result? During her last placement in nursing school, she requested for community placements, there she met MH patients, children, followed health visitors who were seeing babies. She had to tell her assessor to write an official letter, stating how many hours she spent taking care of MH, child and pregnant women. She took this letter to her dean and her dean approved the hours. Her dean then wrote a letter to CGFNS, stating she had placements in these areas. Included her transcripts, curriculum and hours. This was how she made up the clinical aspect. For theory, in her foundation year, these areas where incorporated in each of their courses. With these CGFNS assessed her credentials to become comparable to the US standard. You can also try using ERES (it is limited t9 certain states). So if you have graduated, check to see if you had community placements you should be able to make up these hours. I hope this helps

Hello everyone, I am trying to decide on which online PHMNP program to go to. I am trying to decide btwn Maryville University, Walden University and Regis College for Spring 2021 start date. Please can anyone who have attended any of these programs let me know what they think of them? I will really appreciate. I stay in California, work full-time and have a family, this is the reason I decided to attend a 100%online program.

It is more like Micro and A&P combined. More of A&P though.

I am currently taking it this Spring at MVC but it's with a different professor. I don't think she has any class for summer.

I will be taking it too.
