Exciting Possible Treatment for Alzheimer's! And the first Patient is a Nurse
This is AMAZING!!!!! I pray we achieve a breakthrough soon. I wrote two papers during my masters program in nursing on smoking and ADD/ADHD relating to Dementia and Alzheimer's. I also worry about my head injury leading to a possibility of having Dentia or Alzheimer's in the future. I massage my head often when it aches still after fourteen years and it helps but still worry at times. I pray we come up with something soon.

In the Blink of an Eye: My Traumatic Brain Injury: A Three-Part Series
Thank you for sharing your story. I am a FNP and I too suffered a head injury. Mine was from a softball in the outfield that picked up speed as it fell between my glove and hit the right side of my face. Six fractures later (right orbital, two maxillary sinus, nasal bone on both sides, the septum, and a laceration with sutures between my right eye and nose. I heard the pole on pole sound in both ears for a couple of days, my contact smashed in right eye as it swelled shut. I was smh and laughing a little in disbelief as it happened because freak things keep happening. I could also feel my face swelling up while blood profusely poured out the right side of my eye/nose. The right side of my head/face still aches to the date. I always pray I do not develop any problems while trying not to make the little things that happen relate to any type of significant brain injury. I pray for you as well. I can't wait to read your book.

New NP at Wits' End
Dear Wits' End. I am in the same boat as you. So this email in my inbox is comforfoting but yet frustrating. I graduated in 2015 with my MSN-FNP. However, I went straight into he Doctoral program. I thought it was a great idea at the time to get the majority of the program completed before working as a FNP. I took my boards this year because I kept studying and passed in January. I have been on several interviews and got hired once. Unfortunately, the physician was too demeaning and up in your face while telling you that you can be replaced easily. So I left within two weeks as opposed as the two NP's before stayed a little longer. I have been kicking myself but at the same time I will not allow someone to belittle me on a day to day basis. So I'm back at square one looking for a job but do not want to use my two week job on my resume. I'm also looking for short term RN jobs because I have a mortgage to pay. I will keep you in my prayers for a job soon along with myself.
