  1. Cal State Long Beach Students!

Long Beach Memorial Medical Center has an agreement with CSULB that they will pay for students tuition and books in return for a 2 year committment to work at the hospital after graduation. This is optional of course, but it really is a good deal.
  2. Do you have to take ATI exams?

I'm not sure exactly, because it depends on each test. If you PM me, I will discuss in more detail.
  3. Do you have to take ATI exams?

That is exactly how we feel after we take them :)
  4. Do you have to take ATI exams?

We have to take them. They are VERY hard! We have taken 3 so far & they highest grade I have heard of was 85% for the first 2 med-surge, and 1 person that got in the 90's on the psych (she had an extensive psych background before entering the p...
  5. Mental Health

We had to wear an alarm. I never had to use it personally. I only saw it used 2 times during my clinical, and both of those were incidents where the patients were fighting with each other. I always felt really safe during my clinical. In fact, th...
  6. Mental Health

I felt the same way before my clinical at a state facility. I almost quit after the orientation (as did the rest of my class). It turned out to be one of the most fun and rewarding clinicals to date. I learned much more than I had expected to. Ha...
  7. The $26 per unit tuition rate is for California residents. You have to have lived in California for at least 1 year in order to get that rate. It is significantly higher for out of state students. Sorry - I don't know the out of state tuition rate...
  8. That rink is Glacial Gardens.
  9. I forgot about CHOC in Orange County. It is a really well known children's hospital. It is about 15 minutes from the ice rinks in Anaheim.
  10. In socal, there is Anaheim Memorial that is near 2 ice rinks - both in Anaheim. The rink names are Anaheim Ice & KHS Ice Arena. Not sure if the hospital takes travelers. There is also a rink in Yorba Linda and there is a Kaiser facility nearby...

  12. San diego city & South Western CC in Chula vista

I think it would, but you should check with the department directly. It is a good school in a great neighborhood. I definately recommend it.
  13. San diego city & South Western CC in Chula vista

I did my prereqs at Southwestern. I really liked the school - but they have a 2 year waiting list to get into the RN program. They also require you to be a CNA before applying. If you have the grades, I recommend trying SDSU. They do a point syst...
  14. Live In Mexico, Work In California?

We live in California & my husband works in Mexico, but I know tons of people who live in Mexico & commute into Ca. The commute really isn't that bad. The one tip I can give you is to get the Sentri pass. It allows you to bypass the wait a...

  17. Enablex

I have just received a prescription for this medication. Does anyone know anything about it? Have you taken it or known someone who has? I read what it does and common side effects, but would like to hear from someone who has taken it. Thanks.
  18. Csulb?

Does anyone here go to CSULB? Can you tell me about their program?
  19. Csulb?

Wow! Thanks for all of the info. It is very helpful. Just one last question about clinicals. You mentioned they were only done at LBM. Is that for all students or just those in the accelerated program?
  20. Either CSULB or SDSU starting spring '06.
  21. TEAS science section

I just took it a couple of weeks ago too. It sounds like we had the same test. I agree with this poster. You should be fine.
  22. Csulb?

I am looking into the generic BSN program. I am really interested in the trimester program and would like to know if it is harder than the 3 year program. I was told they were changing the admission to that program from being a lottery system to of...
