  2. Lunch and learn. The in center nurse needs to be educated on the process of transplant so they can push the patients to be transplanted.
  3. Are you still on the floor or did you try management?
  4. I am not sure what I am missing but most places highlight the fact that I don't have any management experience. How can I gain this experience and not be given a chance.
  5. No not at this time
  6. I am having a hard time landing the Nurse Sup. position that I want. I have though about going to work in a nursing home to get some management experience. Help! How do I make my self more marketable for a position. I have a lot of work experience but little management experience. Should I got to a Nursing Home?
  7. I would do a lot of call because you have to reach so many members. basically at the desk all day, not for a person who likes to move around. sometime isolating
  8. Log on to computer, check emails, check calendar to see if you have any meetings. Check call list see who needs D/C follow up call, Lab review, First time contact. Make calls depending on the level of productivity you have to have. Send letters to patients which may be prewritten, chart on each patient after each call. This usually takes 8 hours.
  9. I have about one year of experience in case management. I am thinking about trying hospital case management but I am not sure if this will be the right fit for me. I don't like working holidays and I don't like sitting at a desk for numerous hours per day. Do you thing case management is for me?
  10. Thank you so very much for being willing to answer any Dialysis related question. I am interested in PD nursing and just wondered what a typical day is like for a PD nurse and where will the position lead me. I eventually wanna be a manager?
  11. Do field case managers have a productivity they have to make. Do patients call you or are you on the computer all day?
  12. GRounded1 replied to Marisette's topic in Case Management
At UHC you make the calls. Metrics are related to the number of calls contacted ( not called) you could make fifty calls and only reach 5 people. It is also related to the key point that the company requires you to make on those. calls.

Metrics is how they measure the calls. It can be tricky you have to follow the guidelines the company sets for it. I did not like the metrics at UHC.
  14. Has anyone done PD nursing? I am very interested in this area. What are the pro 's and cons.
  15. What did you decide trying to make the same decision
