  3. I think the highest paying hospital in jersey is hackensack university medical center...but i am not 100% sure if there is higher. Day shift starts at $64, 000 (7-3) keep in mind you will never work 7-3...evening and night was about $73, 000 that is for associates degree...if you want to know the specifics email me...i worked there so i know...
  4. If you need OR expereince Morristown Memorial (atlantic health) has a hire learning program...for the OR i think it is about 6 months and supposed to be a great program.
  5. I agree with Oldiebutgoodie. If I knew then what I know now I think I would have stayed in with IT...nurses are completely unprofessional in the way they treat one another...I've never seen anything like it. :nono:
  6. i also have a few questions...for you doobiedo...but can't send you a private message...try to reply to me privatley ok?
  7. Hi, I'm a new nurse workig in well nursery do you have any pointers on how to calculate heart rate and respirations correctly?? I'm having a hard time counting the apical rate for a full min and also watching/listening to resp rate...any tricks?? 8. This is my last weekend too....I take my test on Thursday and I'm SCARED....I have Lipincott, Saunders and Kaplan and I seem to do ok with the Lipincott and Saunders questions but not so good with Kaplan...I hope that this doesn't mean that I am going to fail....ughhhh!!!
  9. That's great!!!!!!!!!! I take mine on 2/23...any words of wisdom??? I have been studying but still feel like I don't know anything!!!! I am freaking out :)
  10. I saw part of a laproscopic gastric bypass....all the sudden I felt really hot the the room started to fade and I knew I was going to pass out so I asked if I could leave the room...but I didn't make it. I passed out....it was one of the most embarrassing things that has ever happened to me! I told them I was fine but them made me go to the ER and made a huge deal out of it....lol, it was terrible!
  11. Hi, I just graduated nursing school and am trying to figure out what I want to do. Does anyone have any insight into Endoscopy Nursing? What exactly do they do? Thanks!!
  12. Oops...I just found the answer sorry....but what kind of positions do they offer new grads? I wanted to go to HR today to see but it was closed.
  13. So you get $29/hr base plus $4 for working the 3-11 shift? What kinds of positions do they have for new graduates? I heard it is a nice place to work. Thanks!
  14. I feel EXACTLY the same way...and I honestly don't know what to do. I just took my final last night and I am done with school, I am going to take the NCLEX (hopefully in March) and thought I wanted to work in the OR ....but just found out that they don't have a program for new grads until August....I HATED all of my clinicals...psych was ok but I don't think I could stand sitting in those groups all of the time....mother/baby was ok...but can i really see myself assessing lochia all day...yuck! (no offense to any one that does that) I don't want to work 7pm to 7am...that is crazy...med/surg is gross!!! I am so confused....
  15. Does anyone work there? I will be graduating in December and just wanted to know if anyone works there and if so do they hire new grads? If not in that area do they have any type of orientation for new grads in the OR? Thanks!!!!
