  1. plenty of bookstores carry boxed sets of flash cards, not all are terminology, but anatomy flashcards, med administration flashcards can all be very helpful. i had a program on my computer in school where i could create my own crossword puzzles, and that worked quite well being able to ask myself a question and the correct answer had to be correct terminology of the object.
  2. hi linzz, I am an LPN, i've worked in LTC in Minnesota for the last 2 years but i reside in ontario, the only reason i took lpn in MN was that there wasn't a course where i lived at the moment and i live on a border town and have dual citiz., which makes easier for crossing the border. But i am just plain tired of it. I am taking my RPN exam in a week from now, and if i pass i am going to continue my education to RN in Ontario next year. The reason for me doing this is that i've found as an LPN i end up doing CNA duties, plus finishing work the RNs leave behind when their shift is done not to mention med passes and treatments, and for the pay i receive it's just not worth working myself to the bone for. having BScn in NSG will open up more opportunities, and i want to travel, more jobs overseas will open up for me when i have my RN.
  3. I am an LPN in Minnesota i work in LTC, there are 6 full time LPNs and 8 part timers, there are 6 RNs, I do everything including immunizations, RNs are only present from 8am to 430 pm and mostly are in care conferences with families, they will do some wounds, and paperwork, but after they leave for the day it's all me and the other LPN, only 2-3 LPNs on at a time in a 60 bed unit. But i am planning on starting work in ontario sometime this year and if they are phasing out RPNs then i am out of luck.
  4. I have been an LPN in Minnesota for 2 years, was educated in Minnesota, and going to sit my CRPNE this september, i currently live in northwestern ontario and hope to start working in canada soon! And if anyone has any advice on reading material, i only have a month to study! i have to test study guide, but is it enough??? thanks.
  5. i took the boards last month (in MN) so the questions run from 85 to 205, and felt like most people, that none of the content i had studied was on there, and nothing was even remotely close to it, but for some odd reason i passed ! when i thought for sure i had failed it. I didn't get any check all that apply questions, no fill in the blanks, no math questions, and no place an x on the spot either, just all multiple choice questions, which i found really weird compared to what they get us geared up for in class. Anyways, hope this helps you, and i'm sure you'll do exceptionally well, it's all common sense anyways, so don't get too stressed out. oh, and the test may also have "experimental" questions that do not affect your mark, but are only there to see how people respond to them to determine if they will be used on future exams.
  6. hi everyone, i passed my boards aug. 18th and am now a practicing LPN, i was just hired p/t in a LTC. Really nervous though, first job and all...
