You are kidding, right? Too old? I have an ADN which I accomplished at the ripe age of 43. I am now in a BSN program at the age of 48 (4.0 GPA). Planning on going on and getting my NP. Will be 52 yo. And your wondering if 22 is too old? Nope, darling, it ain't.

I agree with you. A lot depends on the attitude that the traveler has. I have always been treated like staff because I go there with the attitude of "I'm here to help you." Have I been given crappy assignments? Yes, but no more than the staff is. I've had only one person say somrthing about my pay and after I answered her, she understood.

I like the small town life. Where would you suggest?

I have been thinking of traveling to Maine. I have been traveling for about 3 years and have an RV. I would love any tips from those that have traveled there. I realy like smaller towns or rural settings. I welcome all advice.

Buy used. Only way to go. get the same RV for about half the price. I sold RV's for several years. 60% markup on a lot of them. Been traveling with an RV for 3 years now and I wouldn't have it any other way. Having said that, it's not for everyone.

I have a 30' travel trailer. Pd $14k and it's paid off. RV park lot rent $375-$500 mth including utilities. Tax deductions out the wazzou. No motel room between assignments. Pull it with a 3/4 suburban. It's not stressful if you take your time. When I'm traveling to another assignment and I get hungery, I pull in to where ever and cook whatever I want to eat. Oh, and I travel by myself. Insurance is nominal as well.

Depends on what you like. Big city or small town. Outdoor life or clubbing. My favorites have been Reno (St. Marys) and Tulsa (St. Johns). I'm a small town person, so I enjoyed Cheyenne WY as well. I'm headed to Montana next. My kind of country.

Of course if your making $20-$23 an hour, then do it for the money. However if you lke the freedom of the road, go for it. If you can do it in an RV than by all means jump feet first into it. Always remember that all great journeys begin with one small step. Step out and go!

I've been traveling with an RV for 3 years and I'm loving it. I stay in nice RV parks for $375 to $500 a month and that includes all utilities. Also they usually are in safer areas (not always) and have a laundry mat (not always). When I've accepted a postion, I call and talk to someone at the hospital or at the Chamber of Commerce about the local RV parks. It saved me in one situation in Tulsa. I do recommend having a tax base as well as a good CPA. For tax purposes you can claim a per diem for every day that you are away from home and it comes up to more than trying to deduct everything. In 2013 I made over 100k and got more back than I ever have. Good luck and good traveling.

Very good travel allowance. The housing allowence depends on the area. I have a wonderful recruiter. You can PM me. I've been with my recruiter/agency for 3 years.

About halfway through is when my recruiter and I start discussing where I want to go and the needs in that area. I have been with the same agency/recruiter for three years. I have talked to other agencies, but I'm happy where I am so I don't see a need to change. Remember when you do your phone interview with the prospective hospital you are just selling yourself. Talk yourself up and really focus on your strengths. Good luck in your future travels.

I always take the lower amount, not $10 ph, but between $15-17. Works out good for me. $51 is about right for OT.

Find a good CPA. I got way more back than when I did it using TurboTax.

Re-up. It shows that you have more travel experience for your next assignment. 6 months looks better than 3 months. If you like it stay, you never know what you will face at the next hospital.

That's normal. There is normally no guaranteed hours for the first week of a contract, thus no guaranteed numbered of days to receive MLAs.
