Anyone could help me wid nursing schools?
I'm leaving allnurses because of EXACTLY the same problem. Can you believe they put an "infraction" under my profile because I "publicly argued with a moderator"...I now have a "criminal record" here on allnurses and anybody who reads my profile can see it ?!?! Isn't that silly and just plain stupid? Outa here!!!!!

Help... What to do if my teacher is rotten???
Thanks so much for your reply. I will definitely get those books I need all the help I can get particularly since I don't have a "Spring chicken" brain anymore. I am starting Fundmentals on August 27th.

What nursing class at your school has the most failure rate?
I also heard that it is MedSurg at our school
-
Is this possible???
At my school you can't take A&P2 unless you have passed A&P1 with a C or better. A&P and Micro are very demanding classes and I wouldn't recommend taking them both together, not if your goal is to make A's.

pre nursing student
I volunteered at the operating room desk, talk about a crash course in Medical terminology LOL...they scheduled all the surgeries and put in info into the computer after the surgeries, Help was always in demand!!!! I helped out with retrieving records, taking specimen to the lab (gall stones, biopsy samples you name it I saw it all ), Can't count the trips to the X-ray department etc....it was very busy and I even helped out with calming the relatives. You'll also get to be the psychologist for the staff I was always there if anyone needed to vent, or a little chat break for the OR techs after being in the OR for a few hours, and many told me about their troubles etc. However, I also had some patient contact particularly early Monday mornings, I always calmed the children down that needed to get tubes put into their ears, many were afraid after their parents left. I read to them, joked with them, I'd bring them little trinkets and stickers etc. I don't remember having too much adult patient contact though. I absolutely loved going every time. After a while everyone new me and I knew everyone in the entire hospital. It was awesome Oh, and I was always invited to their get-togethers...picnics etc. I felt very valued by all those wonderful people.

I Got The Call
That's really unfortunate, makes you scratch your head.... You should think after the grueling task of getting in people figured out what to expect concerning studying and have developed enough discipline....it is my understanding that it isn't that much different at my school. My Spanish for Healthcare instructor is also a clinical instructor and has told us stories these last few weeks how standards are slacking, that students look unprofessional when arriving for clinicals, wet hair hanging everywhere, or they sleep in class and don't study etc. I know a girl that is repeating Fundamentals this summer because she flunked it in the Spring when she started NS...well, I've seen her previous in the study lab at our Biology center during the prreques and was NEVER impressed with her. How she got into the program is a mystery. I seriously start thinking that they don't only admit close to 4.0 but also lower GPA's. I am sorry that things are so unfair, I am keeping you in my thoughts and your day will come, you will get in eventually. Shame on that lady for wasting someone elses opportunity Hang in Sweetie! I know one thing that can seriously get in the way of my success....if the baby sitter lets me down or some other serious crisis happens in my family. But other than that I will get NOTHING in the way of studying and doing well. Our instructor said even though NS is hard, if we study, show up to class and clinicals, don't get behind and take things serious we will make decent grades. .

Help me get an A!
I participated, good luck with your class and I hope that you'll make that A
-
How does your school accept you?
I forgot to mention that you need as close to 4.0 GPA as you can get. It's also verrrrry competitive here

I Got The Call
:balloons:Congratulations :monkeydance:
-
How does your school accept you?
GPA is EVERYTHING to be considered for acceptance, after acceptance the most important becomes CPR certification, criminal background check, immunizations and drug test in order to be able to register for the nursing classes . That's pretty much it!

Help... What to do if my teacher is rotten???
I had what must be the WORST EVER chem teacher....5 people were left to take the final and I had the highest grade which was only a B I hope that you get lucky and get an ok one for the afternoon. Good luck, I so hear you about babysitting dilemmas.....How much can we take, huh? Things will work out, I am sure.
-
Doea anyone get freaked out...
I wonder about the same thing....roughly 2 years of pretty tough pre-reques, the stress of having to make A's to be competitive and get into a nursing school, then nursing school itself which kills pretty much half of the people who get in and then.....once you finally become a nurse nothing but grief????? And we payed how much money to get there, HELLO???? Sounds insane to me! I guess I find out once I get there....

Anyone getting in shape?
of course i don't want to hear it about the scale!
