  1. Unit is Total Chaos

There is usually a clause in a contract which states you can leave after giving 30 days' notice, clean. You certainly can't go on like this for the next five or six months. Give notice and let them find someone else.
  2. Hates Nursing School

What made you want to study nursing? What did you like, or think you would like, about nursing?
  3. This post is not of the quality I'm used to seeing on this site. Posts on AllNirses are usually timely and have to do directly with topics concerning nurses. This has nothing to do with travel nursing so far. It mostly concerns your lack of preparedn...
  4. Covered Up a Narcotic Med Error

No lasting harm was done and you really learned something. This is really going to stink for you for a while but you will go through it and come out the other side. I can tell from the things you said that you are a person of strong character. You're...
  5. Taking Job Hopping to a New Level

Can you do something drastic? Downsize your housing as someone else mentioned? Move to a cheaper part of the country? This is no way for you to live. I've been doing travel nursing for the past few years. There's no commitment beyond the contracted 3...
  6. RMA Wants to Become LPN : Afraid of Failure

Before you try again you need to have a very good idea about why you did not succeed, and you need to have a workable concrete plan for overcoming that specific difficulty. Alternatively, have you thought about other related fields you could get i...
  7. Told to fake vital signs

These patients are people with families and friends who love them. They have entrusted their loved ones to your care. Is this how you would want someone to treat your parents? Shame on these nurses. Embarassing.
  8. lying about clinical hours

This guy is nervy and I hope you're not doing his homework for him. Does he think your time is less valuable than his? Perhaps because he's a man? I could go on but I'm gonna stop there.
  9. If your personal problems are serious and pressing, maybe this isn't the time to start a new job. Get your legal and personal affairs in order, then devote yourself to finding your dream job.
  10. I want to quit first RN job after a few weeks.

If you have decided to leave, don't put this experience on your resume. You've only been there for a few weeks, so leaving it off won't create a gap you'll have to explain. Unless you live in a burg, chances are very good no one will be the wiser.
  11. I want to quit first RN job after a few weeks.

I really sympathize with your feelings of being overwhelmed. The fact is that nursing is really hard. It's such an important job, and you do literally have their lives in your hands. I hope there are other nurses working with you on your shift so you...
  12. If you are on a temporary contract you are not obligated to stay once the year is up.. You have fulfilled your contract after one year.
  13. You were very lucky to find such a supportive group of nurses at your first job. Many if not most are not so lucky as I'm sure you've read. Make sure your skills are rock solid before you leave for another position.
  14. Can't Lift 50 lbs - Will I be discriminated against?

Maybe you should stop and think of some other health care related ffields you could go into. Coding comes to mind.
  15. If you want to be a psych nurse go get a job on a psych unit. Apply to a geroppsychiatric unit if you have to. There's a lot of overlap between a geroppsychiatric unit and a nursing home.
  16. Death of a Dream

My goodness, you are too young to say that something will never happen. Enjoy your child while he is a baby. Pretty soon he will be in school. Things will change because they always do.
