  1. An update... patient appears to be fine. No nephro or vascular compromise. Thank you all for your warm wishes and prayers. Have a root analysis this coming week, but have an idea for my facility to enact so that there's less of a likelyhood of this happening to another pt. Again, thank you all for the prayers.
  2. Don't beat yourself up over this. I think I need a beating over this. I just hope she's going to be ok.
  3. I am just sick to my stomach. I just made a horrific med error last night (12 hour night shift). Wrong med and wrong route on the wrong patient. I was distracted (impending death in the family-now planning funeral this morning) and extrememly physically and emotionally exhausted. This is my 1st error (that I know about) since I got my RN. To make matters even worse, this was my least metabolicaly stable of all my patients too and it wasn't a 'simple' mistake. I really screwed this up. I am just sick to my stomach with worry about her and don't know what to do. I just am so horrified. Please, for any who read this, please, please send a prayer for her. I am just so sorry.
  4. removed, posted to wrong board
  5. If you have a teaching hospital in your area, this is one of the easiest ways to get some really great experience. If not, try taking a EMT course and get your National Certification. Many institutions will look at this very favorably, and waive the 'med/surg' prerequisite. Good luck!
  6. You mean that was an insulated lunch tote? Not something to bring cold beer to work? (just kidden) The rest of the stuff we got was all things that apparently had been collected from the drug reps in our emergency center.
  7. please turn her in before she could actually become the nurse for somebody in my family, my friends, or myself. she'll probably stay 'local' to you. do you want her practicing her style of nursing on your family? send this thread to one of your nursing instructors. distance yourself. get yourself a hotmail address if you need to send it anonymously. don't sit back on this one. she could really, really harm somebody. possibly kill them. you don't want that on your mind. debbyed has hit the nail on the head with her post. ps: it's good to know the profession will be getting such a ethically balanced nurse like you. welcome!!

Why will insurance pay for Viagra but not birth control?
