I am a CMA and have been since 2008, I love my job but if you plan on becoming a nurse someday i would just skip the MA and go straight for the RN. I regret that i didnt. I was told that MA was very similar to nursing and then after half way through the 2 year program i was told that i could not work in hospitals, which is my goal. I am starting the RN program this fall. Best of luck to you in whatever you choose!
I started out at 10.50 and was at that job for 2 1/2 years and was at 12.50 when i left. I started at 12.50 at my current job and have been here for 3 yrs and make 13.44. It really depends on where you are and you may be able to negotiate.
I am 29 yrs old, married for 6 years and have 3 boys aged 6,4, and 1. I am currently a CMA and am starting the accelerated ADN program in 2 weeks!!! I am very nervous even though I already work in the health field. Anybody with advice will be greatly appreciated!!! Good luck everyone!
