Western Governors WGU Pre-Licensure California 2017
One last question sorry for the bombardment, did it take you more than one attempt to get into the clinical portion? I saw in the acceptance letter it says enrollment in pre nursing curriculum doesn't guarantee admission into the clinicals.

That provided waves of relief! Thank you! Do most of the nurses let you do hands on work right away? Or does it vary ? One last question.... how do you manage your studies? Do you break it down throughout the day or do you block off a period during the day?

Western Governors WGU Pre-Licensure California 2017
Southern. I'm in West Covina and was told clinicals will most likely be at Huntington Memorial. How about you? Im nervous, I've taken online classes before and I've done well in them but the clinical part worries me a bit. I was good in my VN program because there was such a strong support system in clinicals you know and here it's different because we only have the nurse we are paired with (along with mentors).

Rio Hondo College Spring 2018
Hey sorry to hear that. Yes I called ATI again today and the representative explained to me that anyone with a Rio Hondo faculty email can access the transcripts it's just a matter of navigating through it. I emailed the dean Catherine Page and informed her of the situation and relayed the information ATI gave me where they requested someone from Rio to call them so they can be walked through retrieving the transcripts. I also called Carissa, a Rio Hondo employee in charge of the Teas testing, she was able to locate my transcripts. So they now have it on file :) Try giving her a call and email the dean.

Rio Hondo Spring 2018
Hey you guys! So I'm getting all my paperwork ready for the bridge application, making sure I am not missing anything and I wanted to share my experience with ATI/ Rio Hondo. I took my TEAS test at another school and ordered the transcripts to be sent to Rio, when I called RHC to confirm they have received it, both admissions and nursing dept could not locate my TEAS transcripts. I called ATI and they were able to log in to Rios system and confirmed they sent the transcripts and confirmed that they were received by a DCHOW. I sent Chow and email only to find out she no longer works there. Per ATI representative, when transcripts are ordered the recipients information is autopopulated and Rio Hondo hasn't called them to update the recipients information. I emailed the Dean of nursing and the ATI rep also called and left them a voicemail. So hopefully all that information gets updated so that transcripts can be received by the designated person. Just wanted to share in case anyone else took their teas test elsewhere. Doesn't hurt to double check Rio received it.

Rio Hondo Spring 2018
Hiiiiii! My name is Joanna, I'll be applying for Sprinf 2018 as well. Teas I got an 87 Science GPA 3.67 overall GPA is 3 point something I don't remember. I have an AS in a totally irrelevant field but tons of nursing experience that I'm hoping polishes my application lol

Night shift schedule?
Breakfast around 1700 lunch around 2300 and dinner around 8-9AM I have a premier shake for either lunch or dinner. It's the healthiest alternative for me. The snacking and the potlucks is what's going to get you. Lololol

Military Wives and DEA-VA Benefits
Thank you for the feedback. I'm planning on attending private but I didn't know there was a cap out, the school isn't as expensive as other privates but at least now I have a better understanding so I can plan my finances accordingly. I have a meeting with my FA advisor Tuesday, but it's always helpful getting input from someone who's experienced it. Thanks again

Working FT and going to school
I need some faith! How many of you have worked FT and gone to school? Is it manageable? What did you sacrifice? I know RN programs discourage working but I don't really have a choice, I've got bills! Haha. From the looks of it (aside from no social life, as if it's active anyway lol) I'll be cutting down my sleep one day a week from my regular 6-8hours to 5-6. I mapped out my work and class schedule so on paper it looks manageable but we shall see how the body adapts. It's a small sacrifice for a temporary time you know.

Military Wives and DEA-VA Benefits
Howdy Nurses! I was wondering if anyone out there has applied for the dependents education assistance benefit from the VA?? If so how long did it take from the date you applied to approval? Also I saw online that there are private schools that honor the benefit does anyone have firsthand experience? Lastly, is the stipend/money for books included with the DEA application or is it a separate process?
