  2. congrats on your interview! practice, practice, practice! with yourself, family, and perhaps a nursing professor/mentor. the more you practice the more comfortable you will feel. This youtube video may be helpful also
  3. very helpful tips! These youtube video really helped me prepare for my interview..
  4. Hey, i recently got hired as a new graduate nurse on L&D. Best advice i can give you is to NETWORK. Also, try to get some doula experience. There are a lot of helpful youtube video about getting hired in specialty nursing areas. Here is one that I really liked : Best of luck!!!
  5. I am a new graduate nurse who has just accepted a position on L&D! I recommend getting doula experience if possible, volunteering or doing cna work on mother/baby or L&D, and NETWORKING. Join AWHONN as a student and attend a local meeting. Reach out to L&D nurses or midwives that work on that hospital and express interest in the field/seek their advice...and stay in contact with them! Good luck
  6. Thank you for your comment. This gives me a lot to think about. I am current considering an offer to work on L&D at Northside ATL as a new graduate and find comments like yours helpful. Is there anything you do like about working at Northside in L&D? What is the nurse to patient ratio and do you feel supported? Thanks!
