  1. very well written and I felt as if I was there!!! Thank you for sharing. Being a new Grad RN i haven't been the primary nurse in a code yet, and I feel that I would be terrified if I did. I seen maybe 3 so far on my unit in the pass 5 months, But I want to learn and better prepare myself so I signed up for ACLS and will participate in mock codes if its available.
  2. I can kinda relate to an extent. I am a NEW Grad RN--ADN with only 5 months of experience. I entered into NC with a new grad job in a med-surg area. with me, they did tell me I would have to sign a contract to agree to get my BSN within 3 years from the date I was hired. They offer assistance with tuition and I am okay with that. MY problem is the patient to nurse ratio. Most days we work with 5 nurses on a 34 bed unit with 7 patients a piece with the Charge nurse having 6 patients. Good days are having 6 patients which is very rare. My floor has tele, psych, alcoholic patients and involuntary committed patients as well. Its SOOOO busy and sooo much responsibility I cannot function some days and it burns me out quick! I started to think I need to QUIT! but I am praying about it and will try to last one year. i do want to further my education because its my passion to NUrse. I love it but when management doesn't seem to care and You clocking out at 9:30pm on a 7a-7p job consistently it gets tough. so my advice to you is yes maybe try to stick it out then go back to school and search in another location before you throw in the towel. SOmetimes $$$$ isn't everything its the quality and your passion for your job. Keep applying and do NOT stop!!!! :)
  3. Yes, I took my Nclex RN exam on june 11th for the first time... I had the entire 265 Questions and it took 6 HOURS!!!! I could not believe it and was devastated. I grad my program may 9th and attended my school's Kaplan review for one week... the course taugh alot about how to strategize for nclex and allows you to take practice test and use Q-Bank Questions. I didnt take full advantage, I was also planning my wedding and I guess tried to take on too much. But long story short, I regrouped and Aug. 11th took it over and got the good pop off...this time it shut off in 76 Questions... is felt much better. But in those two months I used kaplans Nclex rn book, the yellow saunders book, lippincot and made myself do 25-50 questions a day. I reviewed some old content from notes but remained calm and thinking about the way i answered all my questions. Reviewing rationales are very important to help you study. Anymore questions feel free to contact me. GOOD LUCK FUTURE Nurses :)
  4. Thats true and you are right.... yes my results at 265 questions was a fail but I am glad to say I am taking it day by day and its a learning process... after 75th question i panicked and lost it in whick I shud have remained calm and kept going strong. Oh well... I pray to focus on thos weak areas and try again after my 45 days are up! Will keep u all posted and thank you all!!!
  5. I just took my NCLEX-RN yesterday as well and got all 265 questions too .I really believe I shorted myself....I only did kaplan trainers 1-4 and my scores were 62,58,54 & 59 so I felt okay and I did about 200 Q bank questions but studied alot in barnes and nobles with different books doing teat practice questions... for me I think not practicing alot of questions at one time and thinking OMG I passed 75 questions you get VERY discouraged..... I did the pearson trick and it took me to entering my credit card info... :'( :'( so I am waiting on official scores on tomorrow and post my results...... sighs....cried all a yesterday and I am tired... We have to pick ourselves UP and work harder and TRY AGAIN!!!
  6. I must also add.....I took my RN NClex yesterday and received that dreadful 265 questions....was no way at all prepared to sit that long and really freaked out!!! I tried that trick and it allowed me to register..... and put in my credit card info so now I am really bummed out. But I plan to take a two week break....take a trip, and get back at it. I am just soooooo exhausted from school, stress and everything and on top of it all about to move in less than a month.. But thank you again for aharing and I too will post my success story soon!!! Just joined today
  7. Yes I find this post to be very helpful... I never knew about a good or bad pop up until aome of my classmates spoke on it. I graduated this may and took my RN boards yesterday..... I had the dreadful 265 ? S OMG I didnt prepare my mind for that or even studied for a full practice 265 questions and now I regret it..... I didnt feel confident after passing the 75th questions and completely spazzed out!!! So I tried the trick and it did go straight to allow me to register and put in my credit card info and now I am really depressed.....it also hurts to see all your classmates taking it and PASSING......just going thru the dumps please pray for me.... :'(
  8. Congrats to you I am suffering with much anxiety about Nclex RN myself.... thanks for Sharing that post and all you did to prepare the next time! Not giving up and to keep going that is the great thing...
