  1. Where did you buy it, I can not find it.
  2. Thank you for the reply
  3. Has anyone found a great drug guide for everyday medicines and the effects on anesthesia. I have a great anesthesia drug guide, just need one that references everyday meds. Thanks for your response.
  4. What you must realize is that 25-50mcq is per dose and you can give more than one dose. 75mcg is 1.5cc, that is plenty for an endo case. As said earlier, if you were comfortable than you had the right amount. Conscious sedation is just that, conscious..... You have to maintain your own airway....
  5. Congratulations to all those out there that work their butts off for us..... Thanks again....
  6. A1= primary, primo, excellent etc....
  7. Sure, Graduated HS 1995 Three years at a local community college 95-98 graduated with a AA and AAS Transferred to WCU in the metropolis of Cullowhee, graduate 2000 ER 2000-2001 Great experience (will not count for school) CTSU 2001-2005 (A1 experience and for some reason schools like it, I believe because of the numerous invasive lines) Apply, Apply, Apply I would stay away from floor nursing. One, it sucks, and two you do not need it..... People will argue that it will help build your skills.... BS!!!! By the time I transferred patients to the floor from the ER I had already placed IV's, Foley etc.... Also get as many certs as you can CCRN, (ACLS, BLS, PALS) instructor.... I was also a teacher at the clinical level..... Hope this help.... Sorry about the improper grammer, this is the only place I can lay back and not have to worry about that crap....
  8. My school is public. The same information is offered at public and private institutions... Reply in general..... About the stipend, as the salaries go up while you are in school your starting salary also goes up. They are aware that you are not naive and unintelligent enough to sign that kind of contract
  9. I am in CRNA student now and have the information you seek.... I would be willing to talk to you over email or the phone.... I would love to have the oppurtunity to promote this wonderful career.... If this is of interest to you PM me with your email and questions I will answer to the best I can..... You are smart to get this information now and direct your college life towards this goal.... If you decide not to PM, good luck and find someone who can give you direction in this career it will save you alot of time and fraustration.... Gasgiver out
  10. I am currently in CRNA school in Raleigh..... You need to plan not to work at all during school, esp in the beginning.... My usual week is 10-13hrs during the week studying and 10-11hrs on the weekends studying... You need to save money and forget the loans.... I will not go into my finanicial speech mode and lay out lashing towards borrowing money, but "it is crazy to borrow money". PERIOD, for anything.... I worked like a cash cow for two years and built a large savings that I could BUDGET off during my education.... You can not tell me that you can not make enough money as a nurse to save for education.... Anesthesia school is stressful the last thing you need to worry about is money and who you are going to have to pay back 125,000.00 DOLLARS..... Also, everytime I talked to ANY hospital about going back to school they wanted to shove money down my pockets to sign a contract to work for them after school..... Hard work before school and FREE money is the only way to go..... Work hard and prepare...... Gasgiver is stepping off the soap box now
  11. They are deliberating in the house now about the opt-out status, but NC is not alone.... The AMA attempts this in every state, it will not pass.....
  12. JJ what is up.... are in school in raleigh...... dont you have a test to be studying for on Wednesday, you should know those drugs to the T..... What bill are you talking about anyway.....
  13. It is Sunday August 14th the last known day of FREEDOM for two years..... I want to take the time to wish everyone entering Good Luck..... We are all now brethren in a society of Gas giver's.... Gasgiver out.......
  14. Just to let everyone know....... I picked up my books today for school........ Let me just say two words, "tow truck"
  15. Raleigh School of Anesthesia-UNCG..... So I will see you at the ceremony in two years....
  16. GC where are you going to school..... If you do not mind me asking....
  17. Starting CRNA school in August...... Just wondering how much the average person had saved up to go to school or if the majority is going on loans..... Myself...... 30,000.00 saved, no debt except the house, paid off a total of 29000.00 preparing for school..... 27,000.00 total over two years for stipend (this is the best I have heard) 57000.00 total, for you guys that are graduating, is that enough to make it through...... Thanks for the input
  18. This is some great motivation........ To all like myself you are just starting CRNA school in August good luck.....
  19. I know this may be looking ahead, but may also provide motivation.... Starting school in 4wks, and was wondering what everyone planned to reward themself with after school was over in 2 years...... I am buying a Cervelo P3 carbon, 4500.00 triathlon bike..... Not trying to be materialistic, just merely trying to relieve my own stress through hearing others thought of after school....
  20. Started college right from high school, graduated the first time with two degrees one in Applied Science and one in Art. No money anywhere, went to WCU in NC for BSN. Have been a nurse for 5years in mostly CTSU setting. Start CRNA school in 4wks in Raleigh..... My passion outside of career is triathlon. I plan to run Kona IM in 2010, by qualifing, not lottery for anyone who does tri's.... If you don't do tri's, you should, try are wonderful and great to keep you in shape and motivated.... Good luck to all My present to myself after graduating is a new tri bike.....
  21. Don't mind a bit..... UNC-Charlotte..... Would have been convenient (would not have moved) to attend but I don't mind not getting in as long as I got in somewhere..... UNCC is actually located firmly within, (lets all sing together), "In the Ghetto".... Thanks for asking, are you in school now or have you graduate from the life of cheap slave labor..... Over and out....
  22. Ohhhhh..... to be that 1 guy...... Hope he doesn't have bad gas...... HEHEHEHEH get it, BAD GAS..... I know that joke was horrible..... I try
  23. When I applied, I made up my mind if "Bubba Gump's school of Anesthesia" accepted me.... I was going to that school..... Applied to Five (one noway), two alternates, two accepts.... Actually the noway was more like "So Mr.___ have you ever thought about picking up trash for a living, we are unsure how you are able to maintain your own breath.... I accepted at Raleigh School of Anesthesia in NC..... Good luck to all,
  24. I have nine more "dreaded and utterly depressing shifts left".... Why am I depressed, let me see, no more poo wiping, no more experienced (been doing the same job for 30yrs and hate their own life) nurses with chronically bad attitudes...... I can barely keep my shoes on from running so fast out of the unit everyday... I start the Raleigh program August 15th, my last poo day is July 29th, then to the beach for a week.... After that I will be placing my head firmly between my knees and kissing my _____ goodbye..... Congrats to all, let the fun begin.......
