divorce while in nursing school
Im sorry if this sounds rude, but leave home issues at home, same as you would leave work/school at work. Don't let what you have going on in your personal life interfere with what you have going on at school. Because you are in school to better yourself and your career. If things go sour, then leave him behind because all your doing is going UP. Good Luck.

Scrub help
So is it just me, or are scrub tops hard as f* to get off? So I'm male, 5' 6" so some sizes just drape over me, so I usually go with small. I went ahead and got small in scrubs. Put it on and they fit nice, not too baggy. Taking them off is a different story, I cannot slip them back off without help. Am I just gonna have to get the next size up and rock the baggy-ness?

stethoscope frusteration!! help!
I'm starting this fall. I went ahead and ordered one from eBay which I won for 55 with 9 shipping. Ended up saving about $1 if I ordered from Amazon. But it was a littmann classic II blacked out version. I haven't received it yet but from a different forum, it was highly recommended, basically what I was told...invest in a good one now and make it last way past nursing school.

Tyler Junior College LVN to RN Fall 2016
"A second email containing important information about course registration, uniforms, textbooks and orientation will be sent shortly, so please be checking your TJC Student Email Account." Did everyone get this second email with all the info? Because I didn't. I was accepted into the traditional program.

TJC 2016
I got my acceptance letter yesterday for the traditional ADN for this fall. I got accepted with 122.7 points. And I believe they accept 60 students a year.

Anyone applying for TJC Fall 2016
Nice. Mine was 122.7. I don't know why they don't have the deadline after the semester ends. I was finishing up my last class that's non-nursing, A&P2. Ended up making an A. So those points and gpa boost would of helped out immensely. I'm hoping I get that letter though. Supposedly the letters are sent out already, saw from another tjc thread. But we'll see.

TJC 2016
Finally got my OK from the bon...on friday! And last day to turn in applications is on Monday! How lucky is that! As far as hesi, wasn't hard at all other than a&p. I figured since we have a retest I can go ahead and take the hesi And whatever I do bad on, I'll know exactly what to study for. Welp, 100 in reading, 94 math, and 80 in a&p. I wouldn't say it's hard at all, but I would suggest you skim through it a few times as a refresher. Finishing up last tests in A&p2 before finals and decided to just stick with the 80 for a&p, hopefully won't hurt my chances because I know it's not helping them.

TJC (Tyler, TX) Nursing program
Ill be applying to the TJC nursing program. They have a point system where the top students with the most points get into the program. Minimum to apply to the program is 94, with this semester ending, Ill have a total of 104, not including the HESI points (which can total 116, with 80 in reading, 75 in both science and math). So my question to you all, is for the people who enrolled at tjc, how many points did you have when you were accepted into the program?

Nursing Interview Attire
just some advice, from seeing alot of people come in for interviews in non-nursing related fields, suit fit was always horrible. Get something form fitting, nothing loose and also depending on your age, get a slim tie, shows youth and energy.

Decided this wasn't for me
As a current cosmo, if you have any questions let me know. Im currently trying to get into the local nursing program.

Decided this wasn't for me
I wouldnt suggest it. Im a cosmetologist and have been for about 4 years. It has its good days and it has its bad days just like any field of work. But let me just tell you the downsides of it. Its not secure. When you are in school they tell you all the money potential but what they dont tell you is that, when you go out into the "real world", you are forced to work at a chain salon, here in texas its 7.25 an hour and most places wont give you more than 30 hours a week. Since you have no set clientele, you wont make it as booth rental, or commission to make a living, so you have to work hourly for years till you get enough clientele to even consider making the switch. And when you do make the switch, you have to quit and find a different salon to work in, and good luck making all of your clientele follow you. Im not telling you not to do it, but im just saying what you will expect. I would think on it long and hard.
