  1. Oh lucky you...where I come from, we do not use past tense in most of those!!!
  2. Nurses take so much crap from patients to the extent that they (pts) feel entitled to any kind of behaviour. Please remind them that we were human before we became nurses.
  3. Please don't say/think like that. You sound like the pathetic one!I believe that not all days are wonderful in any profession. Some colleagues can put you really down but don't put it all down to 'nursing'.Nurses are WONDERFUL!!!
  4. Hi, I don't believe there is anything 'special' about male nurses! All the hype may only be about the fact that they are fewer than their female colleagues and are actually easier to work with.Haven't you guys heard of all the talk where there is a woman this or that in what was traditionally male territory_like thinking of being a president?!So please don't join nursing coz it will make you special.Nursing procedures are the same for both men and women!
  5. We should have respect for all coz our primary objective is helping the sick.It does not matter the level of education.Just do your best for the patient. When such sad events happen,I think the wise thing to do is ignore and let the other person feel the shame.Teamwork is the motto.
  6. Hi, I am really trying hard to learn this. Thanks for thinking about it. :balloons:

Hi y'all, I believe all the fuss about C/S is due to the fear of labour.Although the pain post surgery is more than that after a normal delivery i.e. due to the long duration of recovery, women want to remain as taut as possible down there. Let them do as they choose after getting the truth.:imbar
  8. Sorry about that.I believe it is time people undrestood our job description. Problem is we are our own enemies and if the complaints get to the nurse in charge, they don't really talk for the nurse but will reprimand you instead. Take heart.Do what is right and be assertive.
  9. Wow! I never thought of that before but it shows how important this site is. I'm asking around to get other people's views. Hard eeh? :uhoh21:
  10. So seriously diannal, how many times is considered Ok?My baby poops once a day(in the morning).Any variation may cause panic! :rotfl:
  11. Hi, Definitely not a good way to start off but you did the right thing.Cowards don't like challenges. Can't someone voice complaints anymore?Good luck as you job seek!
  12. I was looking for an online school so as to get a degree in nursing.Somehow,a link connected me and I am glad I found it.
  13. I believe if u are sick, that cannot be abandonment. If the in-charge rubs you the wrong way and you leave while he/she is there:THAT is not abandonment. They like holding that against us because we do a lot.Who else can multi-task as well as a nurse? That's why where I come from nurses have been sacked for joining other public servants in a strike!OUR absence is easily noticed.
  14. Hello,Keely. I don't have any great ideas but it is a good thing. Show them how dynamic a nurse can be. Be creative and spread the laughter.
  15. I believe we are very responsible people.A nurse should not leave work before handing over report to in-coming staff(nurse). No kind of emergency allows for abandonment coz what if wherever you or your NOK seek assistance you get none and that is the explanation? Remember F.Nightingale!
