Taking NCLEX in 1 week (July 6th) HELP
I took it on June 13th. I made sure I answered around 150 questions a day, which may seem like a lot, but it's worth it. You got this though. Make sure you don't do any studying the day before the exam -- go do something you enjoy, exercise, read, whatever. Stay as relaxed as possible during the exam; anxiety can make things go downhill fast.

Taking NCLEX in 1 week (July 6th) HELP
I did about 1,500 questions on UWorld with an average of 58%. Passed NCLEX in 75 questions. You're on the right track. Focus on rationales for each question, even if you get the question correct. Good luck!

Who loves med-surg?
I'm also about to go into Med-Surg. The fact that I'm going to see a variety of patients and diagnoses is exciting to me. I love staying busy, which Med-Surg will show no mercy for lol. I'm just as excited as you are!

Feeling stuck
The great thing about nursing is there's a variety of specialties you can go into. Many psych units hire new graduates; I was almost hired into one before I chose to accept a medical-surgical position. You have to think about whether you can manage your anxiety somehow before you become an RN. Most RN jobs entail providing direct patient care, so you can't expect to avoid it, especially as a new grad. Think about where you would be happiest, whether that be in social work, nursing, etc. I wouldn't worry about the amount of time it would take to complete your degree, or the salaries of each position (you could always move out of SoCal). Good luck.

You got this! Make sure to stay as calm as you can. Anxiety can break you. Don't study the day before the exam. Do things you enjoy (work out, watch a movie, nap). Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

NCLEX tomorrow 6/13
Yes! I highly recommend UWorld! Their rationales are so detailed and in depth. I learned a lot from UWorld and it helped me pass NCLEX in 75 questions. Good luck!

Took NCLEX today, not feeling good at all!
Keep calm. Worrying won't do you any good until you get your results, so try to keep busy until then! The number of questions on NCLEX does not equate to whether you passed or not. Good luck!

265 questions on NCLEX?
One of my classmates from nursing school took the NCLEX a few weeks ago and got 265 questions. She ended up passing. You could've very well passed!

HELP!! Other Options
If you're still dedicated to becoming a nurse, I would work on boosting my GPA up to the 3.4 mark. Many nursing schools require a minimum of 3.0 to get in (some more, some less).

Did anyone have to relocate for nursing school?
I can relate. I had to move from Southern California to Texas for nursing school, simply because it was too competitive in CA. I came to Texas at 18, not knowing a soul. You are going to learn so much from studying elsewhere. It opens your eyes to the different cultures that exist across the country. Remain positive and keep an open mind. You'll meet a lot of different people that will help you along your academic career. I know it's scary, but so worth it. I had the experience of a lifetime, and I met so many people. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Join organizations, form study groups with your classmates, get involved in the community, etc. Good luck! [emoji4]

Congratulations! How does it feel to have finally overcome the beast that is NCLEX? [emoji16]

UWORLD 46%
I wouldn't focus on your average. Read through every rationale, even if you get the question correct. Know WHY you got the question wrong, and maybe write down the rationales if that helps you. I had tests on UWorld ranging from 48% to 68%, finishing with an average of 58%. Passed the NCLEX with 75 questions. Good luck and happy studying!

How hard is it to get a hospital job anywhere in the country
Many places in Texas are hiring. I was hired in a rural hospital within a month of applying. The cost of living here is low, but it all depends on where you want to settle.

NCLEX tomorrow 6/13
Very similar. The layout, format, and wording of the questions are similar to what I saw on NCLEX. Topics are similar too. UWorld did a great job on preparing me for the beast that is NCLEX, I think.

NCLEX tomorrow 6/13
I think you're ready. You've gotten good scores on both Kaplan and UWorld. I got a 58% average on UWorld and passed the NCLEX with 75 questions; you will too! Good luck!

NCLEX tomorrow 6/13
Got my results today; I passed! So surreal. I was not confident in my answer choices at all during the exam.
-
NCLEX reassurance
Got my results today and I passed!! UWorld works wonders. I wish you the best; you're gonna rock it!
-
NCLEX reassurance
Totally get it over with. You've scored well on Kaplan. I think you'll be fine!

Just took my NCLEX...
I felt the same way when I took my NCLEX two days ago. I had a lot of prioritization, infection control, SATA, and chronic condition questions. I felt like I was guessing on every question. 75 questions later, the screen went blank. The feelings of failure are mutual across the board. I'm sure you did great! Let us know when you find out [emoji4]

NCLEX reassurance
How long have you been studying? If you feel like you're ready to take it, I would get it over with. You got this! I took my NCLEX two days ago, and I'm anxiously waiting for my results. UWorld and ATI helped me tremendously. Good luck!
