Spectacularly failed the reading section...
If you scored a 81 I would leave it at that and move on. Idk what your school requires but if you retake the teas you might get lower on another a section you did well on and who knows you may end up with another 81. It's not like you can just take the reading over. Unless you feel you can retake and get the same scores on math, sci, eng then go for it. 66% is consider passing you did well and have nothing to be ashamed about don't be so hard on yourself

Don't know if nursing is right for me
It might be easier and quicker to shadow at a nursing home.

New CNA job isn't working out. How to build a resume going forward?
How would we know what the right choice for you is? What you may not like others may like. Everything you described is pretty standard for LTC you didn't have clinical as a CNA. Sounds like home health is better for you

advice for single mothers back to school
Um maybe instead of a bsn do a two year college and go part time. That's what most single parents do, go part time and get your general ed classes done. Then when you child is 2-3 put her into day care/pre school program. Then either transfer to start the bsn or start the actual 2 yr nursing program. See if your state will pay for daycare through a state program. Look for daycares with a sliding scale. As far as work you have to figure that out everyone's situation is different. You are very lucky to only pay 30 dollars my mother used to charge me a lot more when she was a infant.

I fail my written test ,please any advice
Keep your head up . Good luck you can do it!!!

Talking to self during exam
Yes talk your way through the skill even on hand washing...it also distracts the Procter a little. Good luck!!
-
Applying before certification
Yes!!! I would apply esp if your test date is right around the corner. Even after you interview it's still a process...references..background check etc...on the application under license I would just write your test date I did it and it worked. Some places will not give you a interview w/o it while others will...good luck

Advice on 1 year contracts
I've heard of this in hospitals where they waste a lot of time and money training people that wind up leaving a few weeks down the road. If I were you I wouldn't take the job. Not only is the pay not that great....how do you even know if you will like working there...or even being a cna better yet? Did you even tour the place. I wouldn't do it don't put all your eggs into one basket there will be more interviews and better opportunity good look on your job seach

Day in the life of a 10p-6a Nightshift CNA please
I understand I'm in the same boat with school and having to work at night. But yes if you work the over night shift there will be a huge disconnect from the residents. You will do the least amount of work on this shift. -re position every 2 hrs. -make sure they are dry and that's it your facility may have you do extra things 2nd shift is the same tasks as first shift -but you also will give them dinner -get them dressed for bed, transfers, brush their teeth And first shift (the busiest shift) -feed them breakfast and lunch -get them up do a bed bath or shower -peri care make sure their clean -get them dressed, brush teeth and hair

Client's daughter too pushy
I would stay. (If you like the job and things change) close mouths don't get fed you need to say something. The daughter can't read your mind the earlier you say something the better

cna certification re-testing (skills)
For the re-test It will be as if you never failed. Youll get random skills and since there random it may be one of the ones you already had. But how did you fail? You read the numbers wrong? That seems to be the only way you could fail that. And don't feel bad bc I don't know how to read those things either. Now a day they are all electronic so we don't have to manually do them. Good luck to you!!

Passive Range of Motion
It's actually not that hard each exercise goes together like Its not anything far off like hand and foot. If it's foot is something close by like leg. If it's Hand then you do the arm as well. For the ROM skill just memorize the body parts used and the exercise for it.

CNA Exam
In my state they only test you on one skill. And it's random so you could get something easy. Good luck you'll do fine

Starting college in the fall, unsure what to take! In need of advice
Honestly I would go with your heart or ask someone that knows you well. Maybe someone that goes to your school that has taken the classes already. I feel like advisers underestimate students even though they are trying to be realistic that's just how I feel. IF your advisor is saying you have to take math bc it's a pre-req for science or something then yeah listen to the advisor. If you want this you will do what it takes if that means getting tutored everyday in math. Good luck just take the classes with the right teachers and you'll do fine

TEAS in 5 Days!
I heard the science hesi was just like the teas science and the rest of the stuff in the manual is closely related. I honestly wouldn't stress with your background I think you'll do fine!

Do you ever find yourself comparing where you are to where other people are?
I honestly think everyone goes through this stage and I think it's worst for those 28 and under. I don't think the older crowd really feels like this or should I say they seem more comfortable so I don't get that vibe. But I graduated 4 years ago and most of my classmates graduated this year with a bachelors and it's all over Facebook so of course I felt some type of way. And now that I think of it I was just venting to my friends mom the other day about this so you are not alone.

Last term nursing student looking for PCT job
I wouldn't say when your finished unless they ask. And if they do ask convince them that it will be some time before your a rn. In my state you have to wait 6 weeks after graduating before taking the nclex. But I think your friend might be right because once you get your rn license you can't work as a pct so they would have to let you go or give you a rn position. Good look I would just avoid talking about school lol

So much doubt...
Here's what I suggest. Finish your B.A and apply for nursing school as a second degree seeking student. In my state (CT) there are a ton of programs for people that already hold a degree. Some programs let you jump right into the nursing courses if your accepted. Who knows you might not have to take science courses because you won't be considered a transfer. I think it depends on the schools requirement. But that's what I would do if I were you.

Online program
Yeah I need to call them for details. It is entirely online in the description they have a "virtual clinical lab". Does anyone know if you have a state board test for pct like cna?
