Are there any on campus visits?? Or conferences to learn suturing? I noticed some schools have days to meet to do suturing and EKG lessons.

I am a recent grad taking my boards in Sept. I had my 1st NICU interview today at the hospital I would lover to work at. They are looking at 7-8 applicants for 1 spot. I should know by next Friday. I feel like I'm going to go crazy waiting to find out. I want this position badly. I felt I did well on the interview which was a peer interview with several nurses. At the end of the interview I ask what are the qualities they are looking for in a NICU nurse, and they all said everything you told us is what we are looking for. So, I'm hoping that is a good sign. I also completed my preceptorship in a NICU (not at the same hospital). They also told me they love to hire new grads. Anyone's opinion on what my chances are?? =)

Is Texas childrens hiring new grad? I called and was told the residency was closed but there are positions that dont require experience that are open

Anyone know the payrates? i was told doctors hospital was only 17/hr?? i hope that not right! What about university or mcg?

If you dont mind..where did you get your residency at? what were the gpa requirements. Ive been calling around to get info at the various hospital. I have a3.5 gpa so I hope I have a shot

I would like some suggestion as a new grad...I will be going to an open house for a nursing internship and would like to make myself standout in someway, so that the hiring manager will remeber me. I know they are probably bombarded during these events. But it just seems like the people who get the jobs have done this in some way. Any suggestions?

How is temple? i know it is smaller than austin, but is there things to do? or do you drive in to austin?

Thanks for the reply. I would only be able to move knowing I have a ajob when i arrive! so frustrating sometimes =) I graduate the first friday in August, so who knows what will be left open by then

How hard is it for a new grad to get a job at parkland? especially the NICU or L&D? Would it be immpossible for an out-of-state new grad? Does anyone know about Centennials Versant program? How competitive is that?

yeah that is what i was planning on doing...but i graduate at a weird time the first week of august...so im sure they are going to have a lot of may grads as well

So...if im a louisiana resident should i go ahead and take boards in LA and then endorse in GA? whats will be quickest...will hospitals in augusta let you apply while you wait on your license?

Anyone? they are positions for staff nurses on mcg website and Trinity in areas like nicu and l&d that DO NOT say you need experience...but will the consider a new grad?

Thanks for the info. I check MCGs site and see plenty of RN jobs under staff nurses..but they do not state how many years is required of experience. I wonder if new grads are eligible for these positions?

Im curious how the new grad market in augusta? I see jobs posted..but wondering if they are taking new grads? I dont graduate till July 2010, but my family and I are thinking of relocating there. Any input would be great!!

I see a lot of rN resident position listed on Parkland's website. Anyone applied and got a call back? or interview? how hard what the hiring process at parkland?

I know the job market is tough for a new grad, but how bad is it? I see some position here and there for a new grad with no experience. Also i see methodist has lots of opening just a minimum of 6 months experience. Do they hire new grads at methodist without experience, maybe if you did you preceptorship for school in that particular area of interest? Just trying to figure out if moving to dallas as a new RN would be okay. I still have 1 year left of school, but am trying to plan ahead. Thanks for all who can give advice!

Really..i dont graduate till next august( the first week of August). I see some jobs that do not say 1 year experience, like at a hospital in aurora. Is there anywhere that is taking new grads? Also I saw university of colorado denver nurse internship program is accepting applications. For that program do they only accept their own students?

What are the chances of an out of state new grad with a BSN getting a job?
