  2. Wow this is a blast from the past I think is was one of the last RNs to get in Arrived in Florida Sept 2007 Happy working in a Cath Lab in Orlando Husband and kids more than happy with new life
  3. It is so wonderful to hear the positive. We moved to Florida Sept 2007, the first few months were hard but have not looked back. We like you were fed up with the struggle As a family we are so happy (kids 15 and 17) We miss our family and friends but would we go back NO!
  4. I did the enrolled nurse training and qualified in 1990. Did the conversion in 1996 in less that a year. I took us 2 1/2 to get the the USA we are still amazed we got an interview with retrogression. Arrived Sept 2007 so been here 14 months now. Working in the same job in a Cardiac Cath Lab in Orlando Florida. We did not use an agency. I have two kids 15 and 16 and a husband. (they never what to go back) Kids went to so grandparents last summer in UK but dont think I will be able to make them go next year.

  7. I was only looking at this last night you can as a US RN and taken an online course with Dundee University. Only problem is small cost of $15,000 LOL can be taken over five years. They will hopefully look at my UK degree level courses I have taken. Really not sure if I want to put in the time but going to think about it.
  8. We had finished our application to OZ when we had our call to the US embassy last year. (We had just had enough) We even come to FL last June to make sure our rental property would be good without us for a couple of years. Been here in the US since Sept and I fully understand I can what you are going through. Best of luck which ever way it turn out. I hope you get that envelope soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Hi I would like to thank everyone who has guided me during the last couple of years. We are now in our new home in Florida and hope to start work soon when I get my SSN. Kids start school on Mon so at least I will have time to get them settled. Life here is good so far all we seem to do is shop for the new house I will keep you posted Thanks again Ann
  17. Thanks again everyone. There is just so much to do now, as all of you know that have done it already. It was great handing my notice at work yesterday I bet it will be another a story when I leave in 3 weeks.

  19. Finally today the courier arrived with package, with our immigrant visas inside. We hope to book the flight in the next couple of days to go over to FL at the beginning of September. Thank you for all your help and I am sure there is going to be loads I still need to know in coming months. Started process June 05 I took NCLEX Oct 05 So it has been a long road to travel
  20. I have just found out my EN(G) 1988-90 transcript Study 487 hours (65 days) Practical nursing 3300 hours (440 days) Florida Board of Nursing have been a real pain to me. I did my NCLEX with Vermont (Oct 05) much quicker than FL. Endorsed Lic March last year, I did not know you had to renew after a year. Now letters are going from them to me to try and sort it out, they are yet to answer and of my emials I have sent them. Anyway hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!

  22. We got into the buiding at 10.30 the same time as our appointment, we were outside for an hour before this. Inside took 4 hours came out at 14.30 we did miss our coach 4 hours trip back to Somerset and had to rebook onto a later one This was on July 5
  23. I had my MMR at GPS before medical last week, at no cost. I know Abby my daughter was not due for tetnus but becasue it is due later this year she had to have it at the clinc anyway £25. The most pain I felt last week was the charge of £725 and the train fare and hotel Hopefully next expence will be flights to FL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  25. I had mine done 18 months ago went to my local station and they did it for free and said best of luck in the USA. Perhaps it was jsut a good day and a nice PC
