I am leaning toward the American Sentinel Case Management program. I got an acceptance letter from them last week and the whole process was smooth, no pressure or hard-selling at all. I am aware they lack the regional accreditation that most people consider to be so important in choosing a program but I don't have any plans of pursuing a DNP or FNP down the road. I am looking to apply for a case management job at the VA and they were specific on requiring nurses seeking employment to be graduates of CCNE or ACEN accredited school, so I think the program will suffice that requirement.

Hi! I started my application but kind of got discouraged by the long list of requirements for admission. I don't have any experience in case management but would like to venture into that field. I left bedside nursing last year and started a new job with the Health Department as a Health facility surveyor. I am currently still in training, with a lot of studying and field work and have to take the federal exam for certification sometime in the summer. How do you like being a case manager?

Hey guys! I, too, am interested in the MSN-Case Management Program of the University of Alabama and planning to start in the Fall of 2016 (If accepted). And how did the admission process go (if you ended up choosing this school)? I found the tuition very reasonable and the fact that it has regional accreditation on top of being CCNE accredited makes the program even more desirable. I've looked at American Sentinel University but it lacks the regional accreditation and Capella University was just way too pricey for me. So yeah it would be nice to start a program with nurses from this forum and have a support group of some sort :)

Oh my that was a lot of info to digest! Luckily i don't have to take stats as i had previously taken that in college. I just switched from PC to MAC and is still learning how to navigate this thing as I am not tech davy at all. Trying to learn how to work the powerpoint and if iall fails ill have my high schooler help me out. Is there a paper due very week or do you have the option of doing a power point presentation? Hi tokmom, I have been following this Thread since I decided to get my BSN. I have learned quite a great deal of what to expect from the course based on the info that was discussed here. Like most of the learners, I dread the CLC projects . I have a very good and attentive enrollment counselor but can't saY the same thing for my advisor. I hope I can buddy up with someone on this journey mine , my start date is the 31st of March .Any insights, tips , recommendations on how I can make this work and family friendly ? Hi Wendy,my start date for the RN-BSN is April 7th and I'm interested to know on the pace of the course, requirements , assignments , paper writing . I am new to online classes and need your feedback as to how I can maximize learning in between full time job and family . Also was wondering why Capella has 10 week classes on their nursing courses when typically almost all online programs I've checked has 5 weeks in length ? Thanks in advance! Hi there , I'm interested in how you're doing so far with the program? My start date with Capella is April 7th and would like to know how doable are the assignments, papers and other requirements. I too have a full time job and family and I hope I'm making the right decision with signing up with the school . I haven't really read any threads here about the program . I too was accepted to the the RN to BSN program at Capella and was wondering if you could share your experience with what you have finished so far. I start on April 7th 2014. How are the classes conducted, the type of assignments they require and how much time do you have to devote to your studies each week and also is taking 2 courses at the same time doable? I just submitted my application today for the RN-BSN online program and I'm just anxious about the whole process. Just the thought of going back to school and having to work fulltime and fulfill family obligations scares the bejesus out of me. I too am in Socal and was wondering how this has worked out for you. I had considered GCU but the tuition is just way too expensive for me . Also English is not my first language and just wanted to know how tedious are these required essays? Any insights, suggestions, tips are all welcomed and appreciated. Thanks!
