I will be going to Athena this September.

I've also heard about the unfair grading tactics placed on students. I know of a person who flunked out of the program because she was one percent off of the required percentage needed to pass

Yes, I'm in the Day classes. I finished all the steps needed to start classes. For the background check and drug test you basically go to the school pay the 85 dollars and they give you a voucher to go to the site and get everything done there. They don't do blood tests, but they do your fingerprints and take a urine sample for the drug test.

What do you mean when you say advance standing students?

There are LPN programs in Davenport, Schoolcraft, Everest, and Dorsey. If you're willing to commute to Ohio there's many in Toledo including Professional Skills Institute, Toledo School of Practical Nursing, Athena, and Stratenburger.

Have you decided if you will be enrolling in either the July or September class?

They are on "provisional" status, which is due to their NCLEX pass rate being lower than standard. In order to correct this, they have instituted many solutions, including the ATI nursing education program which is now part of their curriculum. They told me they have seen a substantial increase in scores since integrating ATI into the curriculum, and expect to be off of "provisional" status as early as August.
