  1. gb230408 did you practice doing the 150 questions a day with KAPLAN qbank questions etc? Or questions from other authors/resources too?
  2. Thank you for the info!!
  3. Hi all, I start ASU's RN-BSN online program in May. Did most of you take 2 classes together the whole time? Is there any you recommend to take alone that were pretty intense? I will be working full time.
  4. I am in the same boat. Work full time and trying to juggle nursing school too as well as other prereq classes for my BSN. I find it best for me to wake up early and get a little bit of studying in before work/school. It is hard to study at the end of the day but I just eat dinner then start studying with little breaks here and there. I find I retain the information better if I give myself about a 5 minute break every hour or so. I also record lectures and listen to them in my car on the way to work etc. and I also take a page of notes with me everywhere I go so I can look at it while eating lunch or any time I have a chance to look at it throughout the day. Good luck it is not easy. I so wish I didnt have to work and could just study and not have to have all the stress that work brings along with it!
  5. I am starting the RN-BSN online program at Arizona State University this coming May. Not sure what the price would be if you are out of state tuition.
  6. I am in block 3 and have found that recording the lectures and then listening to them at home while taking notes helps a lot. I used to do flash cards but not so much anymore. Also do a few NCLEX type questions on the computer every night. I have found that reading the book does not help me as there is too much info. So I just study the power points and take good notes. I am also in a study group with a few other classmates which helps to bounce off of each other. Good luck! You can do it! Nursing school is hard but very doable! I work full time and am taking a statistics class. Its all about prioritizing and finding out what works best for you!
  7. I am in the same boat! Trying to decide between OB and Peds. Either one I believe will be great for me. Good luck!
  8. Anyone know any information on Northern Arizona University's new PA program starting in August 2014??
  9. Hi [COLOR=#003366]Zadia I did an LPN program here in AZ then went on for my RN so I never worked as an LPN. But a few people from my class have already gotten jobs as an LPN (and they just got liscenced in June) and are making $23 an hour. Most jobs will be in nursing homes as the hospitals here dont take LPN's anymore.
  10. The HESI-A2 was prety easy. Just look over a few study guides and you will do great. I had to take it twice because mine expired before I started block three. Both times were cake walks. Go in confident and calm and you will do great.
  11. PSY 230 - Prof. ---- from GWCC is great. Its online but she is a great teacher. Easy A if you stay on top of all the assignments.
  12. The fastest way to bypass the forever wait list is to go to Gateways LPN program. Its only a semester wait list tops. Sometimes you dont even have to wait. And if you have all of your prereqs done you can go right into block three as soon as you are done.
  13. Hi [COLOR=#003366]mo1222 I too am going for my BSN. Are you doing yours at ASU? Have you started yet? I will have my RN in May and am chomping at the bit to get out in the field and start working.
  14. Hi [COLOR=#003366]miteacher, I am currently in block 3 at GWCC and will graduate this coming may. How was the job hunt for you after you graduated?? I am mostly interested in OB or peds but would take anything I could get as a new grad for experience. I know hospitals really like Gateway students, especially since we have a 99% NCLEX pass rate. Just wondered what your experiance was as a new grad. Thanks!
  15. Hi [COLOR=#003366]JustinTRN How are you liking the BSN-DNP program or are you done? I am currently in nursing school and will be finished with my BSN in about a year from ASU. Was the program pretty competitive to get into?
