But Boy with working 60-72hrs a week a one hours commute , twin 7yr olds, a mortgage, bills , one income and LIFE I think classes maybe the best option for me to focus and be discplined! I really wish I could take all classes in 5 months wow and cheaper!!! oh well lol!!
  3. I hate when people demean LPN's we are nurses too!!!!

  5. Do not give up! I found a full time position as a new grad two weeks after I began my search. I got a list of all the LTC/Sub Acute facilities and assisted livings and drove to the first 25 in the counties closest to me up to an hour. I landed a job and four call backs! Keep pushing good luck!!!
  6. I know the feeling:)!!! I felt just the way you are feeling now! School will be intense first semester. Orientation was almost 2 yrs ago! But I remember just taking in all the info:) I just started working and loving it! You can email me at [email protected] :)

  8. Hi! i just graduated from there 12/20/14! Like every school it has its up and downs. The best advice I can give you is pay attention, study hard and stay out of drama or unnecessary trouble and gossip! i have seen students have to repeat a whole term for failing clinicals due to bad behavior. I passed NCLEX first time and have gotten two job offers took me two weeks to find a job. Thank God. Best of luck and feel free to PM and keep in touch!
  9. This is great information! I am a new LPN grad with an interview for HH in Peds and I was looking for resources!! Thank you!!!
  10. Hello, I am having similar issues with NJ BON !!!! I took my test and Passed FEB 14th 2015....I had to drive to Newark ( FEB 18)to pick up my finger printing letter ( SMH) because after four weeks of waiting I never got it...and I was not risking waiting for someone to get back to an "email request" from the call center to print it. My question is how long from the fingerprinting process before I start calling them? I have seen background taking 4-6 weeks?!?! Yikes! I was told 2-3 and sometimes it doesnt take that long. I call them like everyday... As I missing jobs due to no number. I applied walk in to a couple of places and I attached my quick result pge to my resume... I am beginning to think maybe I should just wait till I have my actual number. I lost one job already at a sub acute facility, which would have been PERFECT. I know it will be too soon for them to have gotten my fingerprinting as I just did it yesterday ( drove 1hour away as the closest appt to me I would have had to wait 1.5 weeks!) but still plan to call today just to make sure I am not missing anything. I am a CNA and my fingerprints I did last year June... They said were not acceptable because that has nothing to do with the Board of nursing ( smh) and the dept of health overseas CNA's and they will not give them access to my prints! How bizzare. I guess like everyone else I just have to wait and stay on top of them...

  17. Hi:)!! I def hope pray so!!! I stuided 7 days a week completely devoted, no social media, limited social time...I went full core content plus studying 6 days a weekand one day a week did questions casually. I used the NCSBN 3 week learning extension for questions. Finished every single question. Saunders for content when I went over questions and did not understand. Wrote down all rationales plus took pictures on my phone of ones I got wrong and reviewed daily. used the 35 page study guide that floats on All Nurses read pearson review and rationales from front to cover and read my weakest areas heavily. read on what to delegate and worked on priority questions used nclex dover 3000 daily to answer questions... I answered about 2200-2500 questions by the time NCLEX came around. I used every website for questions I could get my hands on! Nurseslabs.com, exam cram , kAplan strategies - but just for questions. Content I stuck to only two books knew my labs ( a ton) inside went for two tutoring sessions/classes ( I am in NJ). This lady was pheonomenal and $75 for fiver hours! I really had no social life and most importantly I prayed and fasted! I stayed prayed up completely. will keppt u posted!! nikki ( sorry if any typos on my phone)
  18. Congrats! I took NCLEX PN! And like you PRAYER was my saving grace!!! Kept me together when I thought I would crumble!!! I took NCLEX PN 2/14 eeeks! I shut off at 85 questions 40 SATA, 5 exhibits and 5 drag and drop questions later í ½í¸©í ½í¹ˆí ½í¹í ½í¹í ½í¹ got good pop up anxious but keeping faith till quick results!!! Congrats RN!!! Thats the next stop for me... Your story is inspiring! Thank God almoghty!
  19. Hello Everyone:) Wow I can't believe I am about to post in the NCLEX forum! I joined this site May 31st 2013, when I decided to go to Nursing school and beat my fear or Nursing being to hard! This site has beenof the utmost help!!! I thank you all for the various resources !! i took Nclex 2/14/15 I had ... 40 SATA 5 Exhibits 5 drag and Drops eeek and phew! My comp shut off at 85 questions! I did the PVT trick several times through out the day yesterday and today a few mins ago. I am still getting the good pop up sign. I plan to pay for the quick results... My question is being that I took the test on saturday and presidents day being tomorrow ( completely forgot) will the 48 hours include tomm? Or I'll have to wait till Tues or Wed? I felt good during test I prepared so diligently for two months. No social media, no social life, my kids stayed with my ex husband most of the time . ( that made me feel so guilty)!!! I devoted myself completely to studying. I know I can't take it for granted that just because I shut off at 85 I am in the clear. Sorts anxious.. Any thoughts are welcome!! And will keep everyone posted. once again tbank you all for taking the time to read this and for just being an awesome site! Nikki - hopeful new LPN:)

  22. Hello there! I am not sure if this is the right place to post this I am currently an LPN student with a few more months to go we are learning skills now, I always want to practice at home but my school doesn't provide any practice materials or a place where we can buy them. I am also trying to find a way to continuously practice my injections and some of the other skills I have learned. I do stay for extra practice when offered but I want to have access to practice at home too. And being that I have decided to go to EC in the next couple of months I want to get into the habit of practicing. Thank you for taking the time out to read my post. - Nikki
