I learned that St. Joseph Hospital hired 12 new grads to start the versant program. Wondering if any of them are on allnurses?

I am being hired at a hospital that hires travellers but also has a versant residency program. It seems like they may have a higher than normal turnover rate, although, some nurses have been there for years and years. Anyways, they asked me to repay over $5,000 if I leave before 2 years. This way hiring new grads and training them is cheaper than hiring travellers because they require the committment. When I wanted to become a nurse back in 2002, I met a new nurse who was not even graduated yet and was deciding between three hospitals to work for, all with sign on bonuses. Haha! Now I may have to pay my hospital if I leave, all while paying back student loans. And I am so crazy because I am really happy that I am going to start working in my dream career.

Hi Rn_MA, I haven't heard of anyone scheduling 2nd interviews yet. She said 2-3 weeks until it is scheduled right? Haven't heard of any ref checks either.

For people that had a second interview....How much time did you have to prepare for the second interview!? Did they call you and ask you to come in that same week or gave you a couple weeks before setting up the second interview?

UCLA starts later than a lot of new grad programs. I wonder if second rounds will be completed by the end of this month. Hoping so.... :)

I have a friend who isn't on all nurses but she said she got an interview with L&D and it looked like there were two half days of interviewing going on, she said with the unit director.

I was offered a position in PCU...I anxiously waited all day and then left home for a while but left my cell phone thinking that since it was the end of the day I wouldn't get any calls...but I got a message...I think last week was probably super busy...so I will find out next steps when we are able to talk.

I was talking to a nurse today who applied a while ago and interviewed with them and she said that they usually give a phone call during the month that applications were received. Also, she was saying most applications say "in review".

Yes, I interview on Tuesday as well. I can't wait to visit the area.

Christiejoy...it sounds like St. Jude was really fast in hiring...did they interview or just pick candidates? cmgabriel...I didn't get a rejection email yet, but St. Jude said we would here by June 15th if we were selected.
