  1. mmanagers get the idea they want to dictate what happens on "their" unit. They can't do that if they have "seasoned" staff, who will stand up against their bogus ideas of granduer. Whereas, new grads and travelers, are not as bold.
  2. you know I think we should do a little more advocating. after all, the united states is built on immigrants. Our ancestors were all immagrants. or have we all forgotten this. if they are illegal, make them legal and then they can pay like the rest of us have to do, but arbitrally cutting off healthcare is asking for trouble down the road, look at the disease, etc they are or can be bringing to us and we may be sending back with them........
  3. wait until you are on the recieving end.....
  4. you know, fmla laws apparently differ in each state. for instance, i wa fired from my job after 11 years of service, i might add, while on fmla leave, i went to the labor board with it, and the attorney i talked to said, it didn't matter, they can fire you if they dont like the color of your hair today.
  5. :balloons: I have worked for intelistaf since 1981. off and on. they don't pay as well as some of the other companies but they do stand behind you, for the most part and its the little things they do that really add up. like remembering your birthday, nurses day hospital week. they have a $500. completion bonus for the first 13 weeks and it grows by $500. each 13 weeks after that
  6. MY GOD, IS THAT ALL YOU MAKE IN NEW YORK? I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE CLOSE TO $40. AT LEAST. WITH THE COST OF LIVING ETC. they pay that much in the southern states. $24-$35,/
  7. try nurse testing.com
  8. actually some agencies will take you at 6 months. it depends on how hard up they are for nurses. you can learn alot on the road and when you quit learning you may as well quit all together. course i had lots more experience before i went on the road but i wouldnt trade a day of it for anything. still like to travel but age is catching me now. i love traveling, making new friends and klearning new ideas. call intelistaf or msn or mra check it out.
  9. most of the time when someone asks you that they either want to put a feather in their hat before going over to the other side or, they need comforting from you. most people want to know who is actually taking care of them. are you a CHRIST fearing person or a devil worshiper? comfort. that' the name of the game. If you are a christian, just say so. Are you denying christ by not speaking up? If we put no God above our God and love one another...well, the rest will just fall into place.

check with your ed director. It really dependes on your department, hospital, etc. some do pay from the time they reach you, rarely, others pay from the time you punch the clock. don't be mislead.
