  1. - AP 1 - AP 1 Lab - Soc 101 - Comp 1 - Keyboarding (needed a filler class)
  2. First off, congrats on becoming certified! I've been a CNA and a PCT for close to 10 years now. My advice is to give 100% to your residents. Some days that may be hard to do, but when you leave that building you will leave with a sense of accomplishment. Also, do your best to keep yourself out of the gossip/politics of your building. It can bring you down fast. You will encounter lazy co-workers...both nurses and fellow CNAs. Don't let their attitudes affect your job. You are there for the residents/patients and yourself. Finally...if you want to advance your career and are thinking of becoming a RN or LPN...go for it. I'm working on it now and wish I had done it a decade ago. Best of luck!
  3. I signed up for Chem last fall and was informed on Day 1 that it was no longer required for the nursing program, unless I planned to go for my BSN. I was able to drop it. I was so stressed out about it...more so than any class I've taken or will take. Best of luck to you! You can do it!
  4. My classes start on Monday. I'm taking Intro to Chem and Medical Terminology this semester. I'm working full time as a PCT at the local hospital...so I figured that would be a good course load for me. I managed an A in Psych this summer. I'm well on my way. Good luck everyone!
  5. I'm doing English 101 and Psych 101 this summer. I wish you luck. I feel overwhelmed with just those 2.
  6. I'm paying out of pocket this summer and in the fall. Once the winter semester comes, my employer may pick up the cost. Hang in there!
  7. I'm 34 and will be starting my first pre-reqs on Monday, Comp 1...followed by Psychology in July. I look forward to getting to know you all!
  8. I've been a CNA/PCT on and off for the last 8 years. I'm about to finally start my pre-reqs this summer for the RN program. My advice is to try to find the joy in your work. There will be plenty of hard times...mean patients/families/nurses, but the good times, to me, out weigh the bad. I've had patients tell me they waited the whole day just for me to come on shift. I've had good nurses tell me they couldn't do it without me, and love working with me. You have to take the bad with the good. Best of luck!
  9. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. It was very unprofessional of that nurse to speak about you in front of family members.
