CCC-NP Waitlist-2013
Thanks so much jan286. Wow, that's a small ratio. You are totally right those cities are so far away. There is no way I would drive that far and addition to the distance I would have to drive to the college, in case of getting accepted, which sounds difficult. It is really disappointing, but all I know I am not willing to give up on my dreams. Congrats to the ones who have been accepted in to community colleges.

CCC-NP Waitlist-2013
I am taking CNA classes now. And I was told by a professor that next time I should apply to Northwestern CC she said it might be easier to get a spot, since is far away. What do you guys think? Has anyone applied there before? Any insights will be appreciated.

Thanks a lot for the ideas to study for the TEAS V test. By the way I am still waiting for a call, that hopefully (fingers crossed) I get. I keep calling Mary Banks from GCC but can't never get in touch with her. Good luck to everyone.

book required for CNA 1 course.
Please don't feel discouraged before starting. Believe me is not hard at all. You can do it. If nursing is your goal this is a good way to start paving the path to where you want to be someday. Good luck and enjoy everyday. My hubby always says: "you cross the bridge when you get there" so don't worry too much. Is easy and if you have the talent of working with people in this case the most needed ones. You'll succeed. Stay calm ?

book required for CNA 1 course.
I am in my second week of CNA 5 weeks program. It was offered by a Community College I attend. I have a book called: "Nursing Assistants." A humanistic approach to caregiving. Third edition. By Pamela J. Carter and a workbook by same author. Same name and edition. And the books were included on the fees I paid. Good luck. Yours might be different. Just be patient. I wanted to study before going to class, but the books were handed first day of class. Is pretty straight forward material.

CCC-NP Waitlist-2013
Thanks a lot for the info. HelenaHandBasket I admire you for getting a such high score on TEAS, that's was my weakest part on application that's why I couldn't get in I guess. I can never do well on that test. Give me an advice on how to perform better on that test. The parts that hurt most were reading and math. Thank again :)

Irritating things about being a nurse VENT
Only VIP have doctors anywhere around the world. And yes I could have died of pain, because I was about to take my head off due to the unbearable killing pain ✌

Irritating things about being a nurse VENT
I will speak as a patient. I went to a clinic with the worst headache. I knew it was some sort of sinus infection. I was so sick that lost some work days. My stomach was all messed up too. Due to all the draining of nasal stuff eww. I know it's gross. The doctor said, "you have sinus infection" and guess what: she sent me home with a prescription for saline solution and she said take some ibuprofen for pain. Are you kidding me??? I was so mad. I called Doc in my country and he prescribed me some antibiotic and a wonderful nasal solution. Thnx God I called him otherwise I could have died of pain. I don't understand why some docs are in US are like that. My apologies in advance if I offend anyone.

A & P final grades are in, what's urs
Totally agreed, I found AP II way harder than AP I, In fact I did horrible. I thought AP I would be like a foundations of it but it wasn't like that. I am really good at memorizing so labs were easy for me but the class was really hard.

What sacrifices will you make? / How hungry are you?
Your story is so touching and inspiring. It really encourages me to keep going. It seems like you have strong determination and passion pursuing your dreams. Don't let anything deter you. Keep your head up and be strong pushing forward always. You can do it :) Blessings. "Keep moving, even if you don't want to. As long as you move forward something rewarding will come up..."

Is CNA even worth going for?
Thanks so much for the advice. I applied to nursing colleges in CT., unfortunately didn't get in I got into waiting list. Now, I have decided to start my way up from bottom. Taking CNA course on May 28-Jun 27 so excited can't wait for it. This is what I have always wanted to do.

Do you wanna be an RN??
Completely agreed with you Butterfly. You have no idea how hurts to be on waiting list for two consecutive years. I know someone who said to me: " I got into nursing program but after one semester I realized this wasn't for me" I was so mad and thought myself God gives food to people that doesn't wanna move their chin. Somehow goes :) I am praying for a miracle to her called in, since I am on waiting list number 37 put of 121 in Gateway community college.

Insights about Lincoln Technical Institute. Please!
Hi, I have been following this site for a while, however, this is my first time posting. I am frustrated and sad that I have applied twice to Community Colleges in CT., but both times got into the waiting list. I just got a letter saying I am #37 out of 121. I wanted to cry, this is my passion. I have always dreamed being a nurse. I am praying for a miracle to her called in. In the meantime I have been thinking on starting a LPN or CNA program. I would appreciate any opinions, suggestions or advice. Thanks a lot :)
