Taking care of my husband at home after he had surgery, twice, (this was after we had been married awhile!!!)--I would NOT have been remotely attracted to his whiney self had I met him in a hospital, LOL!

Oh my gosh! I wrote this almost 6 years ago! I have found something, Neutrogena Skin ID. It is a miracle worker!! I had used Proactive before, and while it helped, it didn't last for long. Unfortunately now I'm on fertility treatments and the meds are killing my face, chest, and back all over again!

Also just wanted to add that cost of living is cheap here--so making what I do is really good money!

How much do you make an hour? 7 1/2 years experience, $ 28.76/hr, $1.25 shift dif after 1500. Awesome benefits and PUBLIC retirement. For any extra 6 hour shift I pick up, I get $100 incentive. For 12 hours, I get $250. 5. How much do you make a year? Over 50K Things I like: I really, really love my job. Truly. I enjoy working in all the different areas, it breaks up the monotony. Also, if there is ever a chance I would have to take call, I can pick up in any department that needs help instead! Things I don't like: The nit picking that goes on, but honestly that's everywhere. I also can't stand working with big a-hole doctors, although thankfully I've only had that happen once :) I don't like working holidays much, the big ones I mean. I never used to care, but now that I have a little one, I'd rather be at home, you know? But I get double time on 10 different holidays / year, so I really can't complain.

Last year I actually lived right across the street from the hospital--I walked to work every day. When we had snow storms last year, I had no problem picking up when others couldn't get in. I'm thankful I wasn't all crappy about it then, because karma sucks...and when it happened to me Tuesday night/ Wed morning, I was very thankful for the staff that lives close that were able to be there.

Not everyone has the means to stay in a hotel. And to answer your other question--we did not have anyone available. Were there school closings? That's a given. We do NOT know anyone to watch our daughter, she has never been to a babysitter except for family, which was inacessible due to where we live and the distance apart in which they live. The only way to get my sister (a "high schooler" who babysits for us!) was to drive and get her, which I could not do with our little car. As to meeting my husband at the hotel--we only have ONE decent vehicle, which he was driving, not TWO. So again, NO, I could not have met him. Normally under these circumstances they will send out deputies to pick you up--however, I live in a different county than I work and they don't send anyone. I was willing to go in if that was provided, but it wasn't.

Yes, I knew it was coming. However, I wasn't able to go in earlier because I had no one to watch our daughter until my husband was home. At that point, it was so bad that we indeed slid off the road attempting to get to work, with our daughter in our vehicle. I am not willing to put our child at risk to get to work.

You shouldn't have to pay for anything. To ease your mind though, mine always looked different the first day or so depending on who did them, and how deep they went. I bruised one time and that sucker hurt!

We can wear whatever we want, whew! OB and AC has to wear the light blue scrubs provided by the hospital, other than that, we're free to choose!

OP: We push our meds. Some nurses don't dilute it, I do. Burns less and it's easier to push more slowly if it's diluted. FWIW, I've only administered Morphine gtts (in reference to narcotic gtts), but that was on post-op surgeries who was intubated...so it was partially for pain, partially for sedation.

Congrats!! One thing I always do is a send a handwritten thank you card after the interview. Much more personal and eye catching than an email :) GOOD LUCK!

We're still under a Level 2. I would so much rather have snow than ice!
