  1. Congrats you guys who got in, yay! :)
  2. Oh my goodness, I checked my status a bit ago this afternoon and it said "denied" and it had buttons for me to apply to the next available cohort. I was super disappointed because my points were good before the essay! I was about to tell everybody the news, but first I refreshed the page, and it said "acceptance offered"!!! I didn't even believe it at first haha!
  3. Hi Kaige! I have a good GPA in the prereqs but I felt kind of crumby about my essay! I'm not very confident as a writer. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everybody! I didn't get that email about mid-January either, maybe they'll send it a little later.
  4. That's a CA law, yay for California!
  5. I think it's so great that they let you retake the TEAS if you want to improve your points, nice thing you took it at SDSU so you can have a second shot! I have my points all calculated, thanks for asking. Last step: I just have to not screw up my essay! I got a 91% on the TEAS so I'm thinking I'll just take that score. Thanks I hope so too! It's the only school I'm applying to so I've got all my eggs in one basket :)
  6. I took all of them except Micro at NU. The pace was definitely something to get used to, I'm glad I took Anatomy and Physiology before starting their nursing program. Right now I'm doing the last online classes they require other than the nursing classes. At the pre-nursing forum, he said the most recent minimum scores to get into the program have been 82.85, 82.97, 82.89, 83.35, and most recently, 82.6 or so but it could get lower if they allowed in any more alternates. And he said the minimum TEAS is usually around 78-85%. Did you go to the most recent nursing forum? I took the TEAS at Palomar college so that I won't have to do both the TEAS and the essay in the same day. The TEAS took long enough, it felt like I was testing all day long. I'm nervous about the essay too, I haven't done an on the spot essay in years!
  7. Hi SDCaligirl! I just applied to NU for the same cohort! Yay! Did you take all of your prereqs at National?
  8. If you take classes at a college that is not regionally accredited you may have some trouble transferring credits to a BSN. It depends on the school you want to transfer to. Whatever university you try to transfer to may take all, some, or none of your classes. You would have to check with each school to find out. If you can switch to a school that is fully accredited without any big difficulties I would say do it because it would at the very least make things less complicated for you later.
  9. National University BSN and Accelerated BSN Admissions and Points System - How to Get Admitted This website has a break down of their point system. The article is a couple years old though.
  10. How did stats go for you? I took lower division stats and the biomedical stats were SO different! It was rough! I think the whole nursing program is supposed to cost around $44,000 for tuition. @uknowuloveme Do you have a catalog? you can look at the LVN program's classes in there. I think there are around 7 less classes for the LVN-BSN program than the generic BSN. I would be incredibly shocked if the LA program was not allowed to take the NCLEX. I'm sure we would have heard lots of angry people on allnurses if they finished the program then couldn't take the NCLEX, right?
  11. How sad! Why wouldn't they have become physician assistants if they loath the idea of being a nurse. Weird..
  12. Penn Foster has one. Medical Terminology Certificate - Penn Foster They are not regionally accredited so your credits will not transfer just anywhere.
  13. Thanks for the encouragement! I am going to get my CNA and keep working towards getting into an RN program:)
  14. Are you applying to all of the other community colleges? I just checked on Miracosta, you don't have to do all of the health requirements until before you start the program. You should check the other schools too. Don't get discouraged! It'll be ok! :) Apply to all of the schools you can. I was thinking that I could also apply to an lvn program as a back up plan. Haven't looked into how much quicker (or longer) it would be than waiting around to apply to the rn schools all over again but it sure as shucks would be a lot less frustrating! Palomar has a one year long lvn to rn program if i remember correctly, if not them...it was some other community college around here.
