  1. I felt exactly the same way you did before I started working in August. The money alone isn't worth the responsibility, and doesn't make up for the stress. I thought for sure it would.. seeing as I'm making double what I've ever made, and I only work three days a week. I need those four days off to mentally recover, and muster up the courage to go back. I hope nursing works out better for you than it has me so far.
  2. I went up to 265 today too! I felt good getting close to that 75, sure that it would shut off but it never did.
  3. That is my hope also. I felt so good up to the 75 and was sure it was going to shut off for me, I was getting a lot of select all. I couldn't believe when I came to the break how many questions I'd done. I've never even heard of half the stuff that was coming up! I felt so ready for this too. I tried the pearson vue trick and have been getting "the good pop up" but that isn't helping my nerves at all.. But from what I've been reading it definitely is possible to pass at 265 so i'm going to cling to that hope!
  4. I went 265 today. The next two days are going to be torture.
  5. I went 265 questions. I feel like I knew nothing.. So many meds I've never heard of :'(
  6. I know, I know! I'll be sure to try and fit in a trashy movie today for good measure :) Good luck everyone, I'll be praying for us tonight!
  7. I'm also taking NCLEX 7/16! I am still doing practice questions today.. I just can't help myself. I've done over 6000 in the past 6 months so they don't even phase me anymore..! I feel ready, but still have the thought in the back of my mind "WHAT IF I FAIL?". Anyone else..?
  8. Thank you everyone! :) Espically for the study websites that will be helpful. My program is in Pittsburgh, PA.
  9. Any advice, tips, or anything I should invest in? I start a diploma program September 3rd straight through for 22 mos. I have anatomy, micro, and 2 entry level nursing courses first semester. I know its going to be way intense. Just a background I'm 24 (today :) married no kids, I have an associates in HR, and I have an hour long drive to school! Thanks in advance.. I'm getting nervous but I'm determined!!
  10. I have a friend here in PA that got a $20,000 sign on bonus in 2010 for a 3 year commitment right out of a 4 year bsn program.
  11. I applied to Citizens in New Ken which is affiliated but it was my last choice.
  12. Lenape in Ford City has a full time and part time program
  13. Yinzer I would apply to Shadyside asap I don't believe they do transfers.
  14. Wow that is awesome good for you!! :) I'm hoping I'll be okay, I'm a go with the flow kinda gal. Thanks so much for the info!!! :)
  15. Congrats tmow! How did you feel about your instructors at St. Margaret? Is it a supportive learning environment or are you kind of on your own? I'm starting this fall and I am excited and terrified all at once..
  16. In my area I've noticed quite a few unwed mothers are MAs (girls I went to school with). They get to go to those 9 month programs for free because of their "situation". Good for them if they do take the opportunity.. although programs like that strike a nerve with me and makes it seem like they are being rewarded.. but that's just my opinion. Anyways that explains the make up, tattoos, piercings, and attitudes for me.. as these are usually girls in their late teens to mid twenties who don't have a clue about being professional! Again, I know this isn't all MAs but def. have seen this issue in my area.
  17. Oh my goodness.. you'll be fine I'm sure! I got finger printed today that was interesting to say the least LOL
  18. I'm in trouble! lol
  19. I haven't gotten anything at all in the mail since I've been accepted! I'm anxiously awaiting to see what the next step is.. I had to call them a few times so I could find out if that nutrition transferred which it will thank god so now all I have to take other than the sciences is logic this summer.. whewwww! Wish something would come soon I like to be on the ball!
  20. Don't give up guys, brush yourselves off and take it again! I failed it 5 years ago and am kicking myself in the behind for not trying again sooner but then you weren't allowed to retake it.. you'll get in somewhere just keep trying! I know it sucks but believe me you aren't the only ones that test is hard but now you know what to expect. You can dooo it :) and when you do pass it and get in somewhere you'll appreciate it that much more!
  21. Did the people that went to Shadyside today find out anything interesting? I was busy throwing a baby shower.. blah.
  22. I honestly don't think they look at the scores just as long as you pass everything I had a low score in reading 52 I think and I still got in.
