Is anyone near or in the path of Katrina?
I live 15 minutes from new orleans. I stayed to ride out the hurricane in my house. We hardly had any damage thank God! It is just so sad hearing all the stories of people who didn't make it. Our hosital is one of 4 open in the metro area and it is crazy.

I go to LSUSON and our school is under water. There is talk of us moving to baton rouge. there is nothng definite yet the faculity is having another meetin on sept. 7 and there could be some new developments. I hope they provide housing. Do you know of any houses for rent? I know y'all are getting people from new orleans who are going to make baton rouge their temporary home and I worried about housing. Thanks :) Jen

How much money should I save?
Hi everyone, I am a American nursing student and I want to work in london after I graduate. I wanted to save about $60,000-$70,000 before I moved there. This would be in addition to my salary in the UK. Will this be enough money? I have looked into apartments or flats and they tend to run aroud $1500-$2000/month. Should I get a roomate or can I live alone? thanks for any advice Jen

Do nurses need malpractice insurance?
Yes many lawsuits happen. but when you sue you must sue evertone who was envoled in the persons care including the nurse even if they were not responsible for the mistake or negligence

Do nurses need malpractice insurance?
Thanks for the reply. I know of a few nurses who have been called to court to testify in a lawsuit. I just wanted to know if I needed extra insurance for when I move to london. Ya'll have a great day :) Jen

Do nurses need malpractice insurance?
I was wondering if nurses in the UK need to get malpractice insurance. I live in the US and nurses are often named in malpractice suits. I don't know if it is the american culture that likes to blame people and make them pay or if it is also common in other countries. I would appreciate any feedback. Have a Great day :) Jen

LSU Nursing School
I will be a Sr.I in the fall. I gave tours to the students who were interviewing on April 9, so you might remember me if you interviewed that day. Enjoy your summer don't study! You will do plenty of studying in nursing school. The teachers are very friendly and helpful. If you are having trouble in a subject go to them and they will do their best to help you. When you go for orientation you will get a big sis or big brother. They will be Jr.I who may give you old test or old notes if they want to, it depends on the person who you get. If you need anything else don't hesitate to ask me. I recommend getting to know your classmates because you will be seeing them everyday for the next three years and you will have plenty of group work in some of your classes. best of luck Jen

LSU Nursing School
Congratulations Good Luck. Physiology is very hard it gave me the most trouble. Did you get into the CARE program or the regular BSN program? Have A great Day :) Jen

LSU Fast Track Program
You should get your BSN first if you want to get a masters. If you go to charity you will get a associates degree and then you will have to go back for your BSN then your masters. you are better off just getting your BSN first because it will take longer to get your masters if you get an associates degree first. Have a good day Jen :)

LSU Fast Track Program
Yes it's true that nursing school is a lot of work. To be honest I didn't think it would be as difficult as it is. I don't know that much about other programs so I can't say how muh work they give. LSU focuses a lot on the theory part of nursing. No matter what school you go to every nurse I know say that they learned on the job, school only prepared them so much. I do like the program despite all the work and studying, but anything worth having is worth working for. I would not recomend going to nursing school unless you are sure you want to be a nurse. We had about 5 people drop out at the end of our second semester because they decided they didn't want to be a nurse, so they ended up wasting a year of their life. I hope I haven't discouraged you from going to nursing school, I just want to give you the facts. Good luck with whatever decision you make. Jen :)

LSU Fast Track Program
I don't know anything about signing a contract and LSU paying for your schooling. We are not offered any contract in the three year program. I do know that the accelerated program offered by Tulane makes you sign a work aggrement with them. Have a good day Jen
