Boston new grads between 21-25 an hr

I actually was pregnant and had a 3 year old. I basically had to wait until she fell asleep around 8pm and study/homework. In the morning I had to be at clinicals at 7 am but I would drop my daughter off and get there an hour early to study. I also used my lunch to study. Flash cards helped a lot !! They actually were my savior. Group discussions like me and my friends would test each other whenever we had a chance. We would also throw random facts around. Having my boyfriend quiz me while I was bathing the baby or cooking also worked. Good luck!

Thank you guess I'm just nervous. A lot of nurses I've worked with were ..... Umm. Well they had high standards lets put it that way. Are any of you from Boston ?

I think if you don't enjoy patient care nursing will be a LITTLE hard for you lol. Psych should be fun , they do have a wise variety of specialties in nursing. 2 semesters ? Hmm I would wait it out a little longer before I made my choice. You never know ! Good luck

I would commute, enjoy my ride and enjoy my shift. Your more likely to arrive early since its an hour away. I just couldn't work somewhere I didn't enjoy working at, it's a job your going to be doing this everyday might as well enjoy doing it.

If its me , I will stick around. Just remember its our license on the line. A couple extra seconds and you keep your license.

Hello everybody, I hope I'm not asking a ridiculous question. When I was 18 I was working as a cna and I always got treated differently or I felt like I was babied and not taken seriously. There was a lot of older cnas and nurses that treated me like their child . I know it is a young adult age but i had a baby at 17 moved out of my house at 17 so mentally I am more mature than what people would think. ( with a lot more to learn) no matter what age you mature daily. I went to nursing school and now I am an lpn I recently passed my nclex. Even in nursing school I was the youngest student nd my classmates and even some clinical instructors treated me the same way. It may be due to my petite figure I'm 5 feet 110 Pounds that makes me look even younger. I am 22 now and I have another baby I just had her 3 months ago. I am now applying for jobs and I'm concerned that as a nurse my staff will not think I'm capable of running a floor. Will it impact my chances on getting a job? How can I set my foot down to control or handle situations where someone another nurse or a cna is trying to take advantage ? I feel that because of my age the cnas will be to lax with me ! Any advice?

Well not to be negative, but my professor told me no student gets straight A's in nursing school. It is too much content. When I was in school all I thought to myself " are we here to be doctors"? It's do much content!

Thank you :) we had drinks and tomorrow well have a BBQ :) yes Kaplan and nclex are similar in testing I seen a resemblance I'm letting my friend use my Kaplan now but if you have a qbank about 60% average will get u passing I thought it was easy but I did Bout 700 questions and in school c average anybody that's scared don't be !! Take it!!!

Still waitinf for results! anxiety kills!

Its been 48 hours and 36 minutes. Still no result! Im so anxious . Name isnt on BON either! Congrats to the rest

I did Kaplan pn ONLY I took my nclex today and the questions were similar. I recommend it. I also got the good pop up so hopefully I passed.

Well I've read a couple posts and it said it wasn't right because 48 hrs later they checked their unofficial results and they passed. Just wait it out , don't get discouraged. I took mine today and got the good pop up but I'm not getting to excited until I see my results. Officially.

Just got home from my nclex pn. I took 1.5 hrs and it shut off at 86 questions... I'm very anxious because the computer definitely knew where my weakness were, ortho. I got home and tried the Pearson vue trick and the "good pop up came up" I hope this is reliable. When the computer stopped my heart sank. I dont feel confident but I don't feel like a failure so I guess I'm in disbelief still. It asked a lot of SATA and mental illness. It isn't as bad as it sounds if you know your content and lab values. We will see in 48 hours I will start counting down. I used Kaplan qbank that it.

Thank you ! I wish I could fall asleep. I just tried but tossed an turned. I don't wanna take a sleep aid either but at least it is at 2pm

I graduated nursing school and I'm taking my nclex tomorrow and I have the same medical conditions you do. Do not give up focus in class I know it can be disturbing but just write everything the professor sys down as she talks that's what I did even if I had to rewrite my power points. I also made flash card. I did not study with study groups do to the ADHD that took my attention away and started babbling about other things. On exams I would rush through them always the first one done . I learned to pace myself I really wanted this so I took my time to break down each question and narrowed two answers with multiple choice questions. I had my boyfriend test me with flash cards that I had created. You can do this focus on the positive not the ADHD or anxiety. Monsters nd coffee a good breakfast and good night sleep helped me when I didn't take my concerta.

I'm new to this forum. A lot of blogs have helped with my studying. I graduate June 29 and I actually was pregnant and had my baby July 28th my baby is 8 weeks and I've been pretty busy I also have a four year old and a husband to take care of. I have been studying as much as I could off of the Kaplan qbank I have done 60 percent about 700 questions I stopped today and I have been getting 48 59 53 60 58 63 56 59 68 I have been reading rationales and know all my lab values I'm just nervous that I didn't study as much as I should have a lot of posts that I've read mentioned that they have studied a lot and none of the content was actually on the test. Any tips for tomorrow I go at 2 can't sleep thank you
