  1. After collecting all my data clustering there was a risk for falls since my pt. had a stroke and is paralyzed from her right arm. The only problem is that our instructor don't allow us to use risk for diagnoses for this second care plan. My pt. can't complete her ADLs or IADLs by herself either she needs assistance from one other health care team member. Pt. also has a past dx of COPD, Diabetes, and Hypertension, but doesn't show any signs or symptoms of SOB. She has no crackles, or wheezing, and her pulse oximetry was at 98% normal range. Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it :)!!
  2. Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it. I will sure make that revision :)!
  3. Hi everyone, I am kind of having trouble trying to prioritize my NANDA-Diagnoses. I have already completed them and I am kind of debating in if to proceed and submit my diagnoses the way I have them prioritize. I would really appreciate any feedback. Here is what I have come up with after finishing up my data clustering. Ineffective peripheral tissue perfusion related to constriction of blood vessels secondary to diabetes AEB, peripheral edema, temperature of Lower Extremity cold to touch, and delayed capillary refill of 5 seconds Lower Extremity. On this pt. we have to secure her ABCs, and after that is secured then we can focus on Maslow’s Hierarchy. This diagnoses I chose for my pt. is prioritize first due to circulation. Nurse needs to first prioritize and secure the pt. circulation, since that is an essential need in our everyday life. If the pt. doesn’t have adequate circulation then all of the other systems start to shut off, and more complications arise. Imbalanced nutrition: more than body requirements related to excessive intake in relation to metabolic need AEB BMI of 52.9, over IBW, and weight of 308.2. These diagnoses would be second prioritization because the pt. is still able to eat, the only problem is that the pt. will have to reduce her daily intake to control her weight and reduce her BMI. According to Maslow’s Hierarchy this diagnoses belongs to the second stage, which is safety since there is a concern with complications that might present with her health if the pt. does not control her weight.
  4. Thanks, for letting us know about this.
  5. Dr. G Medical Examiner, Trauma: Life in the ER, Untold Stories of the ER.
  6. I also start classes in the fall and I will be using the Saunders book. I saw great reviews in amazon for this book.
  7. Hi, You can find a list of all the pre-classes in the webpage Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi - Generic Baccalaureate Track Apart from the core curriculum you have to take pathophysiology and Pharmacology classes before you get into the program.
  8. That sucks haha. I thought that it might show up, hopefully we hear something soon. I wonder if there was a lot of applicants this time around.
  9. Nice you have a great shot at getting the scholarship :). Mine is a 3.4 EFC 0 no volunteer work, or experience in medical. I do have management experience but not related to medical.
  10. I didn't know that I thought it would show. I did see a link where it said credit inquiries I have had in the past. So it only shows soft inquiry? Hmm lol not good at all .
  11. I haven't seen my credit pulled, or received anything either but we should be hearing something soon :). My summer has past by so fast since I am taking two classes I been keeping myself busy.
  12. I have creditKarma as well and haven't received any alerts, but I am thinking we should start seeing something by this week since all the past threads saw there credits pull by this time.
  13. I checked my credit report as well today and nothing. Judging from last year posts we should be having our credits checked by the latest next week :).
  14. 75% on exam average before anything else is taken into consideration (assignments, discussions, quizzes). If you don't achieve the 75% on exams you automatically receive an F for the course.
  15. Fundamentals of Nursing Care Fundamentals of Nursing Care Lab Nurse Therapeutic Communicator Health Assessment Health Assessment Lab YEA! So ready to start I am currently taking Pathophysiology and Pharmacology :).
  16. Hey Chief, What if I am in the process of taking them off? I have gotten 3 laser tattoo removal sessions and currently need three more to remove them completely from my neck. Also, if I am graduating in May 2016 would I still be able to apply to this term?
  17. I believe that it is any area that is underserved would qualify for the two year commitment. It can be hospitals, home health aid jobs, federal facilities, etc. You will have to search the facility you wish to work at and see if it is listed as underserved. I believe it has to be a score of at least a 14 or more in order to qualify. Here is the link in which you check out the facility. HRSA - Find Shortage Areas: HPSA & MUA/P by Address - Version 2.0
  18. I am planning as well to apply to a masters program, but not right after school. I want to get some experience first, and pay my student loans as well.
  19. Thanks for the information. Good luck :)!
  20. It's a great scholarship program, the only down side is the contract for two years that limits your choices. I know might as well get the two year funding since it is the same requirement.
  21. I believe their preference is for full time students, but in case you change to part time you just have to let HRSA know so they can make adjustments to your stipend, and other things. Thats what was said in the phone conference :). Good luck Zibi.
  22. Congratulations! Stress reliever for now until nursing school :).
  23. Thanks, I am really looking forward to starting the program :). I am nervous but I think it happens to everyone during there first semester.
  24. Congratulations! I have been accepted into nursing school as well, and I start on August the 27th. I am a little bit nervous, but I guess that is normal :). I can't wait to start my fall semester. I only need to take Pharmacology and Pathophysiology in the summer terms. I hope that goes good for me.
